Marc, wonderful job! Thanks for sharing parts of the assembly with us. Your plumbing discipline is certainly something that caught my eye. Also, thanks for the lead on the lights....it took some time as communication was slow but I got my lights ordered this week.

Who wants to see a nice artistic night time shot with all those lights and MFD's a working?? Come on Mr S. You owe it to your loyal fan base :D Hell, I think this beauty even deserves a short walk round video all together. I have a feeling its going to look the nuts all switched on and lighting up your driveway!

RE: 1:3.7 Pilatus PC21 turboprop build
Very nice Marc. Congrats! Have you ran the lights in the daylight yet? How effective are they?
|
RE: 1:3.7 Pilatus PC21 turboprop build
Sean - the lights are good in the daytime, bright sun would be tough to combat, but in general conditions all is good. The MFD's are not as bright as I would like them, the viewing angle is great for the pilot though! maybe experiments with OLED's would bring on a better result, nevertheless they are more a static display so do achieve some conviction in the current format. Maybe next time I'll explore the screen options and build a board to drive them.

RE: 1:3.7 Pilatus PC21 turboprop build
Hi,
My next project is the entry level version of the PC21 you have built. Must say an absolutely awesome job you have done with this one. Anyway just wondering if it has been maiden and if there is a video? Thanks Johan |
RE: 1:3.7 Pilatus PC21 turboprop build
Marc, excellent work of art. Especially those MDF's.
I just love it. Thanks for sharing. ENT |
RE: 1:3.7 Pilatus PC21 turboprop build
Not flown yet, there was an issue with the clear coat not adhering to the base colour so its been back to the paintshop for remedial work, and I understand also the SPT5 has gone back to Jetcat for an upgrade to the gearbox. Ali will be able to give a better update in terms of when its due to maiden.

marc s:
What kind of upgrade they are doing in the gearbox ? It will be interesting to see what differences there are with the previous model. |
