Stomp!
 

A while back, somebody on this forum described a method of mounting BVM tires on rims. I flatspotted a tire at FJ, and yesterday the new tire arrived from BVM. It was obvious that the tire could not be simply pushed onto the rim. So, I thought I would try the STOMP method. This is how you do it:

1. Place rim on piece of wood on the floor
2. Lubricate tire with liquid soap
3. Carefully place tire on top of rim.
4. Place another small piece of wood on top of tire.
5. Stomp on it!

So I did, and bingo! the tire slid right onto the rim. Total time: about 5 minutes. It really works. Thanks to whoever posted the technique.
