Problems with a Gyro

OK Gents need a little help here. The problem is as follows. I am setting up my JR 460T gyro on my bobcat. I installed it, plugged my rudder servos into it via a y cable and turned on the system. As the instructions said I let it set motionless for 3 seconds and it found it's center point. I then started setting up the high and low gain. Unfortunately when I go from low to high gain the setting the gyro resets it center position. I have called horizon and they are no help because I am using a futaba radio they won't help and great planes won't help because I am using a JR gyro. So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.

So here are the facts:

JR 460T gyro
Futaba 9Z WC2 radio
Futaba 309DPS Receiver
JR Servos

Any help and suggestions welcomed.

Patrick.

Problems with a Gyro

just cause it is a 9z, and has multiple conditions available, look at the subtrim menu whilest you are switching the gyro from low to high and back, to insure that subtrims are not changing with the gain selection. look at the trim menu as well. they can be different from condition to condition.
also,
disconnect one servo from the y lead, so as to leave only one servo connected to the gyro and see if it still does the re center thing, if not, then most likely a "jr matchbox" added to the system in line to one servo will help ya out.

Gyro Problem solved (I am an idiot)

Well I went back and re-read the instructions and in the instructions (in small print) is a note that says that the gyro gain center will change when switching from low gain to hig gain. I completely missed that in the instructions the first THREE times I read them. The thing that disturbs me is that when I called Horizon about the problem they didn't even catch that. They just put it off to being a Futaba Transmitter as the problem.

Mongo,
The conditions was the first thing I checked and I made sure that there was not condition switching going on when setting up the gain. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Problems with a Gyro

Patrick,
I'll be using the same gyro on my BC, let me know if you find anything special on the setup.

Thanks,
Todd
