Voltage for a P180

Hi guys!
I have tested a 3700 mAh 6-pack of NiMh cells for my new Jetcat P180. Even when the pack is
freshly charged every third or fourth power-up shows "Power failure" on the GSU. Also, even
though the battery is at 8.3V the symbol on the GSU shows that the battery does not have full
capacity.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Tor

do you have the menu set to the proper cell count? if it's set for A123 it'll be on 8 cells and will give the symptom you're posting.

Yes, I checked the GSU and it's set for 6 cells NiCads - I can't find any special setting for NiMh

you sure the battery is OK?

I don`t think it matters what the setting is on the gsu. I know that kero start puts a large drain on batt for a few moments and then the back bounces back to showing a good charge. Maybe this is what you are seeing.

i got the impression he's seeing the problem when power is applied to the turbine, not during starts.

I had a very similar problem that happened with my P-70. I could start it one time and go through a cool down mode and the very next time I tried to start it I would get a power failure. The only way to get it to start again without getting a power failiure was to recharge the battery. The battery would only take around 150mah or so. Initially working with Mr. Matt it was thought to be the ECU battery. Battery was a 6 cell 3100 NIMH and I was able to cycle the battery at around 3000 - 3050 mah. I was pretty sure it was not the battery. Eventually I sent the ECU in and Jetcat replaced the ECU. Problem solved. I realize you are seeing your power failures on power up, but the symptoms are similar.
