Best In The West Jet Rally 2009 Pictures/Videos
 

Greetings to all from the Best In The West Jet Rally in sunny southern California.

This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of BITW, and the 4th year that Coachella Valley Radio Control Club has hosted the event.
With temperatures of 80 degrees, clear blue skies,..and winds of 5 mph predicted,we are in for a real treat this weekend.

The event doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but we had several pilots show up early this morning.


Here is a few pictures to start off with.I will have lots of pictures and video to post throughout the weekend.

Was hoping to attend the event at least Saturday but was informed today my Friday test (work) was pushed to Saturday morning. [:o][:o][:o] I hope you all have a great time.

Yup - three present...Dave Searles, "Smokin" Joe McBride's, and Billy Edwards all flew on Friday, Dave had a minor problem and did not fly his on Saturday. Awesome to watch these fly.

On a personal note, had to head home this afternoon but a great time was had by all, thanks to the Coachella club for hosting us!

PS - Anyone get any pics/video of the green/brown camo L-39's?

What's the situation on the ground there people? I am hearing reports of fires, explosions, power outages and sporadic gunfire. The posted videos have been censored and their are also reports of looting at the local casino parking lot...
