COLORED SMOKE
WHO HAS THE COLOR DIE FOR SMOKE OIL?
|
RE: COLORED SMOKE
A few guys tried the red dye, and made a mess, not worth it, the red stained everything. Joe C!!

RE: COLORED SMOKE
Thanks Joe. Do you know what they used or where they got it from? I know there is a dye that is used by the full scale stunt pros and flying teams, want to try it anyway. I tried a strong mix of food coloring, got a slight tint, just not full blown color like I need.

Send a PM to AFTERBURNER1. He got some a little while ago. Same thing, mess everywhere and stains everything in sight. I think he got it from the same place the Patriots get theirs.

RE: COLORED SMOKE
I've got it! About 4 1/2 gallons of red. You mix it 3 super dry to 1 dye. It makes a mess but carb cleaner will cut it. 5 gallons of red goes for about $350, blue about $500 and you can get just about any color you want. Cost is different because of the elements used to get different colors. Let me know if you want some.

It sucked, but it was funny when I heard someone comment,...."It's the gift that keeps on given" :) Two months after you stop using the stuff, it still is all over the place.
Yeah , keep us informed, you might have better luck, sure would be cool to have colored smoke though. Billy |

RE: COLORED SMOKE
OK, I GET IT! SO IF IT'S SO MESSY, WHAT MAKES IT SO AND WHY CAN'T IT BE FIXED? THERE HAS TO BE A NON-VOLATILE DYE THAT COULD, PERHAPS, BE SPRAYED AFTER THE BURNER TO MIST AND MIX WITH THE SMOKE AFTER IF IS BURNED BY THE EXHAUST. IF I CAN'T GET ANYWHERE THAT IS OTHER THAN THE S&%$#^&*T'S, THEN I DO HAVE AN IDEA AND WILL TRY IT. WHO KNOWS!
