Litho Plate I believe is what he is using to create the detail. Johnny, glad you have decided to hang around my man...thought you were going to jump ship on us there for awhile. Most certainly a kit from Heribert would be a nice addition to your already outstanding fleet. |

On top of that, they have a direct access to a nearby Mirage 2000 and to Catia. The plugs were partly CNC machined from the CAD documentation. So let me tell you that this plane is scale to 1/10 th of a millimeter. Most of the scale features are CNC produced and the level of detail is breathtaking. If you ever get a chance to approach one of this birds you'll understand what I am talking about... |

You won't be disappointed. This is the best Mirage they have ever designed. It is also the best one I have ever seen anywhere.
One weak point of their previous Mirage was the gear. I have checked the new M2000 gear design personally. It is rock solid. There are still two pistons but the way they work is totally different compared to the previous Mirage. There is one standard mechanism in the wing that does all the job including locking and unlocking the usual way. Then there is an additional piston that you can see from the outside. It is here for scale purposes and to help the main mechanism during operation. The gear mechanism is 100% made of AU4G and it is massive. http://www.geohei.lu/olin/photos/Mod...ism%20set1.JPG Note that the sliding groove is machined only on one side of the main gear retract walls to improve the strength of the unit. It also allows the mechanism to fit in the wing: the gear mounting bracket is higher on the other side. |

Altecare had the AD 1:5 Mirage 2000 on their web site last week - Just awesome.
I just checked again, and it's not there any longer. Maybe it was there prematurely??? But the co$t aside, it should be an absolute winner - P200 or equivilant for power. |

Like to kick this thread back to the top for two reasons. First is to congratulate Heribert on the maiden of his magnificent scratch built Mirage. The development & build can be seen in two different threads listed below which are already in the Google translation format. I can't imagine the fulfillment and great satisfaction this achievement must bring to Heribert. Outstanding!!!

I was Heriberts caller for the prototype plane and also for the scale one, or No. 2. The only think I can say is wow. The plane flies fantastic, looks great in the air as well as on the ground.
The paint sheme he chose was a quite a challenge, but 100% worth the effort. The Mirage is beautiful, the weathering perfect. The plane looks like used by the squadron. You cannot compare Heriberts work with teh AD Mirage. AD is a professionel Company with a huge backgruond. Heribert is basically a one man show. Believe it or not, he did everything by himself, from the molds to the scale details like pitot tubes and antennas. I saw also the AD Mirages at JP. Beautifull, and also great fliers. I think Eric and his team did also a great job. May be AD is more scale, for me and Heri it doesn t care. Heribert build this plane because he always wanted a Mirage. So he did it. Last year on the Jet Power, I have seen the AD Mirage. I think the dimensions of the AD Mirageare more scale than mine, because I havebuild my Mirage without any technical devices.
