The day before the annual Tucson Jet event begins a few of us gathered to warm up.............78F, light winds until 3:00pm (then it roared), and overcast skies. Many gallons of Jet A were burned. Can hardly wait for tomorrow..........the weather should cooperate, until late in the afternoon. More to come.

The first official day at Tucson Jets provided a lot of flying opportunity for all 15 pilots. Wonderfully, no need, as yet, for the GONG! High cloulds, but no wind or rain. The Saturday and Sunday sky should be clear and blue.

FUN, FUN, FUN, in the Arizona sun is the only way to describe day two at TIMPA. Debbie, as usual, ran this superb annual event and the 28 pilots and spectators enjoyed the desert sky. The food was GREAT, but the association with pilots and their wives make the memories of this rally unforgetable. A very special thanks must be extended to the many volunteers who put in so much time to make the FUN happen. No need for the GONG at this western show, as it just would have sat at idle...........Another tribute goes out to the two dogs who chased the Arizona Jack (golly they have long ears) through the field at dinner time. The Jack won ! Next stop: California Jets.

Thanks for the pictures Chris. Looks like everyone there is enjoying themselves and getting lots of flying. Twenty degrees and snowing here. Is spring ever going to arrive ? Atleast it made me feel better to see the guys wearing short sleeved shirts and flying. Debbie always puts on a great show! Later

Debbie and Clay did a great job once again and all who attended really had a great time. Thanks Marvin for making some great looking hats and shirts. I think this is the first event I have ever attended where the CD made dinner for all of us at home and brought it to the field, so special thanks to Debbie for that too.

Finally made it home safe and wanted to take a minute to add our thanks to Debbie, Clay and all the volunteers that worked so hard to host another fantastic Tucson Jet Rally. Thanks to ALL ! Chris and George summed things up very well and we had a blast as always there at Tucson.
One other thing to add, WE MISSED YOU SKEET! Although they won't be Uncle Joe caliber, I will add some pics that we took this weekend when able. |
