RE: Fuel Filter Orientation, does it matter ??

I think I have my problem corrected or atleast I am on my way to having it solved.

I removed my fuel filter from my airplane and checked the tightness of the two parts. I was able to tighten it some, maybe 1/10 or 1/8th of a turn you might say. So it might possibly have been sucking air right there, not sure . I then opened it and inspected the inside and it appeared to be clean and clear and fine. I retightened and installed in a vertical configuration and took it to a local parking lot where I made 3 or 4 simulated initial takeoff rolls with no flame outs. The next day I made two flights with none of the issues I have been having. I"m not ready to declare it fixed for sure but...................... I am very hopefull, its looking good so far.

Thanks to everybody for their inputs. RCU to the rescue yet again.
