BRAKE SYSTEM BLEED DOWN

Has any one had a brake system just for no unknown reason start looseing air pressure, for almost 45 days the air system held air pressure no loose at all after 10 great flight here in Alaska the Brake system started to bleed down over a 10 hours it will bleed 100 PSI off. It is no real big deal it hold air for a normal flight. I have safity wire all connection with 020 ss wire.

Anyone seen this happen and were you able to fix it.??????

10 Hours to bleed off is not very serious... you have not mentioned which brake valve and where it is leaking from? Is it leaking from the brake valve, fill valve? Difficult to give advice not knowing what you are operating...

I no it is not really a big deal now but it seem to leek down faster in time I have checked all fitting up to the brake valve and no sign of any leeks. In looking at the brake system plumbing the leeks should be somewhere before the Brake valve. Or in the Brake valve itself??

Pat,
I ask again, which brake valve? BVM? Ultra Precision? Jettronic? Airpower?

ORIGINAL: [email protected]

I haqve the Ultra Precision -6 Brake valve.

Leak is most likely before the valve or you servo is not releasing the plunger completely, I highly doubt the UP6 is leaking.... Pinch off the feed line at the valve with hemostats and see if the pressure still bleeds off, simple way to be sure if the leak is at the valve or before.

Hi,
You may wish to check the wheel brakes themselves, not the pipe connection.
I had an issue where the brakes pressed themselves away from the wheel and began to leak. these are the brake 'disk' type, not the expanding pipe sort.
I checked my pipe fittings over and over before I found the problem, fixed by reassembling the wheel/brake hubs and flat spotting the axle for the grub screw.

Hope this helps,

RE: BRAKE SYSTEM BLEED DOWN

Thanks to Dreamworks and there large wealth Knowledge the Bleed Problem was corrected by increasing the throw on the brake servo. the brake valve was partially close just a very small amount not enough to apply any brake but enough to leek a very small amount of air over a long period of time.

Thanks Dreamworks
