Kero Start Install

1 Attachment(s)
Guys,

Quick question.

Do I need the metal/white washer type unit when installing the kero unit. I am guessing this is some sort of spacer for if the depth is less than the required 9.5mm? As my P180 has about 11mm I assume I don't need to use it??

Cheers,
Mark

Mark, you must use the nylon washer, cup side up, it acts as a washer to seal the plug, also gives you ability to position plug intake towards front of airframe without strain.
Also you must use the heatproof teflon which I assume you have, Gary.

use all parts! the washer has changed to 1.5mm some time ago to make sure that it seals correctly.
in the past we have seen pressure leaks.. with the thinner washers.

OK, thanks guys. So order from bottom to top is white teflon washer, ali 'spacer', then kero unit with o-ring seal.

Correct

Use by all means the clear teflon tubing as well and not the regularly used PUN (polyurethane) fuel tubing. The latter melts during a few repeated start attempts. The keroplug really gets hot.
Another tip : change the ECU-mode from "propanestart" to "kerostart" by pressing "+" and "ignition" on the GSU simultaneously when powering on.
