I just wanted to write and thank you for your help and fast shipment of the new starter and Propane filter/reducer for my used Super Eagle.I got the parts installed and took the Super Eagle, installed in my Boomerang XL for my first flights today. We had some concern as the fadec had been run on a 11.1 LiPo before I got it but it worked perfectly with the batteries you recommended. The turbine went through the start sequence perfectly and spooled up to the correct RPM.On the first start up the turbine did shut down whenit appeared the idle may have falleninto the 32000 plus range.(any thoughts on this – is it something I should be concerned with)Other than that it ran perfectly and I got my first 5 flights on a jet.

Thanks again for your help. You and Jet Central have a customer for life!!!!

Ken

Tulsa, Oklahoma.

RE: Eric is THE MAN

I agree totally.

I justinstalledmy new Falcon into my Boomerang Sprint and was having problems with it not starting or starting but not ramping up properly.
On Saturday (Yesterday) I was able to get hold of Eric and after a brief conversation hesuggestedacoupleof changes to the settings and now it seems to start and run excellent.
That's GREAT that you can get hold of him on a saturday (Morning my time, Afternoon his time) and he is able to help over the phone.

(Now, if we can figure out why the HDT is showing 62400 rpm when the glow plug is tested at the beginning of the start sequence) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../omg_smile.gif

Thanks for the help Eric and am looking forward to many years of usage

Try to separate the RPM wires from the glow/starter wires.

Causeitflies,

The RPM wires go down one sire of the fuel tank and the Glow/starter wires run down the other. The only place they are close together are where they plug into the brains.

georbeckha

Twist the glow plug leads around each other that will help. A poor ground at the glow plug can cause the high rpm reading too. Did you extend the glow plug leads? Using wire that is too light a gauge will make it worse. Not really a big deal if the turbine lights off and starts ok. Rpm readings will return to normal as soon as the ECU sees ignition (heat) and turns off the glow plug.
