How do you program a delta wing for futaba?

The rafale will be my first delta wing. In my 12FG I selected flying wing (2 AIL). How do you make 1 servo (i.e the left ailevator) perform both elevator and aileron commands? When I view the servo monitor I see the channels still operating independent of each other. I need to have elevator and aileron on each servo.

Thanks! Pete

Selecting a flying wing selection should make it an ailevator. check your function screen and make sure you have the servo in the correct channel.

You do not say which version you are using. If you download v1.6, you will find if you start a new model and choose the 1 wing/Delta option, the elevons are put in for you. Just look at your servo test to see which channels it has chosen as optimum.

The Rafale has Canards if these are operationaly then you need to set up an ordianary 2 servo wing or 4 servo if it also has flaps and just revearse the operation of the elevator for the Canard.

The great thing about radios like the 12FG there is often different ways of settings things up. We have the Futaba flying wing set up that allocates channels 4 and 5 to the elevons. To operate the canard servo I allocated it to channel 2. I then mixed it with the elevator and had to put in 50% rates to get the right amount of reduced movement. Also the sense of the servo needs checking to make sure it is moving the right way. There are no flaps on the FEJ 1:9 scale so that is not an issue.

The best way is to put it in the classifieds and with the money you get, put it towards a JR:)

sorry.... could not resist.[&o]

JRs are good radios.

I would get one myself if I wanted to limit my mixing options.

One can do much more with a Futaba 14MZ, 12Z, or 12FG.

As you said, "sorry...could not resist."

Seriously, though, we are really fortunate that the radios we have continue to improve.

The best radio out there is the the one you like the most.
