Question re: DTE light and pail pump

Guys,

Based on reports here, and Wren's statement that Mobil DTE Light is approved for their turbines, I purchased a 5 gal pail of the stuff from Grainger. I got a little worried reading more and more about the hazards of the chemical composition of the 2380 oil.

While I was at it I ordered the Dayton piston pail pump that is spec-d to fit 5-gal pails. While the threads on the pump look "about right" compared to the threads on the pail liner, I can't get it to screw on to save my life....

Does someone out there deal with industrial lubricants and the 5-gal pails and piston pumps who can tell me where I went wrong?

Thanks,
Dave

I use the spout and just pour it into a big measuring cup. Why do you need a pump?

Just seemed more "legit" as my teenage son says :-)
