Hi Chis, very cool A-10!
Heres a quick fix to try, add more to your plug so the webbing will be below your useable part, then cut it off where you need it.
That should work, if not i have a few other tricks that i could pass on to you.
Ronnie

Hi Ronnie
I did read up on adding a riser. I was going to try that next. I did try putting a small wall around it to try and suck up the excess slack in the plastic with the draw. When i did that, i only got webbing on one side instead of 4. I guess i will need to step up the thickness of the plastic and try the riser out. Thanks for your input Ronnie.

thanks
chris

I made a jig to mark where the fins go on the drop tank. I was going to put the outline in the mold but was in a hurry to get it finished and had forgot. I will end up putting these in the mold after the fact but for now, i will just mark them to make it easier.

Few other tricks? I did not mess with it to long with a riser but the webbing actually went up even higher. I even tried thicker plastic and less heat. I thought about a female mold but thought i would see what other tricks you may have.

thanks

Here is the hinging i had talked to you about. The hinge brackets are high so when in the down position it rotates and pushes the door toward the rear part of the door opening. The hinge point allows part of the gear door to go up inside the wheel fairing. This will solve the problem you are having. I guess i better send you out some of these.

I made a former for the hinge points that gets glued into the wheel fairing. This makes it easier because the hinge point slides into slots on each side and you can tack it all in and make any adjustments. Very simple to install. Now the doors sit in the correct spot. I will work on the nose door hinges and tie rods over the weekend and see if i cant get it all finished up. The last picture shows how far i came up from the back with the hinges on the door. I came back .25" from the raised part of the flange butting into the hinge. I am also working on scale strut covers for the tie rods, front and rear.

C.G. is 4" back from leading edge of wing or 1/2" forward of leading edge of wingtube. Tam will be taking an extra 1/16" out from the already corrected incodence on the rear wing. That would put it at 1/4" up instead of 3/16". He will put in another flight and get it dressed up for california jets.

Wheres my video? LOL. Just joking. I got back late last night and my software for my video camera is on my computer at the shop. My video taking was not the greatest yesterday but i will be going back over today to get some more video. Ron 101 was there and taken some video. I was hoping he might post some video because i always have camera issues. I will try and get some up over the weekend.

We were unable to fly today at california jets from a hard landing that fractured one of the main gear mounts. I will try and work on the flight video that i have over the weekend. I also did walk around video today.

I decided to laser engrave and cut the gauge faceplate seeings there was so much small detail. I used two different materials. The black high impact resistant phenolic sheet seemed to come out nicer but the g10 sheet cut easier. This is a rough draft and a little more detail needs to be put in. A clear pice of plastic will also go in behind the faceplate then the gauges behind that to give it a sale appearance.
