Ican't wait to see how this line of engines performs. Talk about setting a standard for installation simplicity! I know Buck just got his '90 today, can't wait to see it in action on Sunday at Church!

It's not as if I can't see the picture and count the components myself(), but I'm wondering how this "set's the standard" as opposed to the installation of any of the JetCat SX series motors? (which I own none of, and thus am also not selling)

I'm all for newer and better, and applaud innovation. I had thought that you were referring to a new innovation?

We flew the 160 this weekend in an MB 339...awesome engine. Contact Chad at Sin City Jets.

RE: Wow! Something to watch!

It's my understanding that the Jetcat SX series is incredible. Ibelieve (according to the manual) that they still use 2 solenoids and 2 lines to the turbine. The Booster uses 1 and strikes the I/Oboard as well. Just like when Jet Central came on the scene with an extended warranty and WAYfaster spool times, the competition had to follow suite,,,,,,,,,,it is POSSIBLEthat this new "one fuel line, one power line, one data line" kero start setup may get others to move a little quicker in their developments in these areas. The price of the install kit (including a Li-mg battery) and ease of installation will make pilots who had before not considered sharing motors between airframes now consider this option. Finally, the SX standard has not been extended to their 60, 70 or 80 size motors. So, to my knowledge, at the time of my post, Buck's evo90 seemed to be setting a new standard in terms of installation, internal kero start for thrust class, etc. I am sorry that you took issue with my comment. Ialso am not interested in a whizzing match with you. Relax, it's just a hobby and this post just my personal opinion. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...wink_smile.gif

Well I must say that you totally have me there with the i/o board and the 2nd solenoid ! I'm happy to admit that I stand corrected.

How about service in the states? How do they compare ?

Great!

Now I have to put my popcorn and diet coke away. I thought this was going to blow up into something good... Just kidding! :D

James, is your new bobcat the same one I saw in the for sale ads? If so, That is one SWEET looking plane! If not, Thats is one SWEET looking plane anyway! LOL

Hope to see you sometime soon again. I finally have some time to get my Boomerang repaired and will start making the Benbrook rounds again.

No worries hh, wasn't trying to chief you, just explaining what Ithought was new, esp for that size motor.

Les, sent PM. I'm still in the tank for Jet Central - there's a super eagle in the classifieds that would replace your RAM1000.

RE: Wow! Something to watch!

Not only just one fuel feed, but also the Kero start plug is an automotive type at 12volts so should have an almost indefinate life span, also the ECU is already programmed for A123's just change it on screen, unless they have changed something radical in the design as well these will be just as noisy as the G-Booster range unfortunatly, that is the only down side I can see at the moment, but in the UK that is a big down side for club flying.

RE: Wow! Something to watch!

Sorry for not seeing this earlier, I was hanging out as Fresno Jets all weekend. Smitty is right in that it only uses one valve and comes with a LiMn battery. The ECU is pre-programed for A123's. All the evojet engines are internal Kero start and they all use an automotive 12v Kero burner....you may even find them on your favorite German diesel imports.

As far as the service and support, they carry a five year warranty and have 25 hour service intervals. The first 25 hour service is done here in the U.S., and the 50 hour service is done in Germany (for now). Barring any abuse, crash or FOD damage, all services are a flat $250, which covers the shipping back to you, even from Germany.

All ECU's are flash upgradeable, free of charge. Any ECU can fly any engine, so all it takes to transfer an engine from one plane to another is an install kit and 4 screws to free the motor. All parameters for all the motors are stored in the engine itself. No need to move or transfer the ECU or fuel pump.

The engines are loud, but then again, they are jet engines ;)

The pilots currently flying them for the evoJet factory are Buck Garza, Paul Bageman, Rob Lynch, and Jake and Dave Bottita. Feel free to ask any of us any questions you may have. You can also check out the evoJet Booster direct support forum at the top of the RC Jets page.

Buck, that orange motor looks hiddeous, you better give it to me to save you from the cruel jokes and taunts.

RE: Wow! Something to watch!

Evo was impressive! That thing is small! Iexpected it to be about the same size as Rabbit - definately smaller. Power was very impressive!

I, on the other hand, was not impressive.... Igot tired of my old flex plates and decided to put the mains in the grass but the nose wheel on the pavement - and thank God the nose gear was on the pavement! Couple small things to tend to but not a big deal at all. Flex plates are genius!

Buck, any other pics with smoke? Bahnahnah pass??

Doug, I'll give Buck a hard time for ya, especially when he does queer things like test stands!

Edit..... Dude..... nevermind, Iget it, they are way over there >>>>>>>>

GEEZ!! What are you trying to make up for? http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...eeth_smile.gif

Here's a start-up video of the evoJet Booster 90. On the video, you will hear Dave tell Jake to run it up, and the throttle response that follows. We'll get some more video showing the transmitter and data terminal later on.
