UAT to fuel pump fitting

ok, I have read that some people tend not to use any festos on the UAT to fuel pump side. If that is true, how do you reduce the tubing down to fit the fuel pump barb?

Right now I have a Hanson UAT with a festo connector on it. It takes 1/4" OD tubing. Is there another way to reduce the tubing so it will fit on the fuel pump?

Put a short piece of 4mm fuel line over the nipple, then put your 6mm line over that and safety wire.

Just an FYI for people, the evoJet fuel pumps come with a 6mm connection on the "IN" side of the fuel pump, and a 4mm connection on the "out" side.

Good idea, thanks for the info! I will certainly give that a try.

That is a great feature on the evoJet pump. Off topic, do they make a turbine similar to a super bee?

Not really, their smallest engine in the 19+ pound B90....although it's size and weight aren't much bigger than a bee. It's between a P60 and P70 in terms of size.

Good luck with your set-up!

Hyper,

Chad nailed it. Thats the best way to handle what you are wanting to do. I'v never had one to leak set-up that way. Like Chad said, be sure you saftey wire it. Make sure your 4mm Pc. of tubing is as long as the nipple. That way when you do saftey wire it, you have the full length of the nipple for seal. As an added, I'm really liking what I see in the Evobooster M90.

So another stupid question, I am guessing the 4mm tubing should not be any longer than the nipple? I figured that cant be good if it is - maybe causing flow restriction.

Thanks again!

You definately wouldn't want the 4mm to be able to be squished down to a smaller dia. so just make sure you cut it to the right length.

This is exactly what I do.
