Kangaroo formers?
I have picked up a used damaged Kangaroo, I want to replace all the internal formers as it was damaged on takeoff on the maiden and never repaired. anyone have a pattern for these formers? this is a original kit built roo with glass fuse and foam core wings.

RE: Kangaroo formers?
Here is the website for Composite ARF:
http://www.carf-models.com/public_carf/pages/ If you cant find any, make some out of 4mm depron (easy to cut and sand to shape) then trace them down on a piece of wood and cut to shape. |
RE: Kangaroo formers?
thanks guys, comp arf does not offer the replacement formers on there site, I will just make some templates as Lior advised and cut them myself. I think I will move the gear back as well to help with landing though I never had any trouble with my Rookie II.

RE: Kangaroo formers?
I have a kangaroo at home. I can trace formers later this week . they are a pink foam I think.

RE: Kangaroo formers?
that would be great, I'm currently fixing the glass damage. I will be using a honeycomb composite material for the main bulkheads and ply for the nose gear bulkhead. any info on cg would be appreciated as well.
thanks Kevin |
RE: Kangaroo formers?
You can use strips of epoxy plasticine on the fuselage section you want to put a former..just half of the fuse will do and later you can draw on paper the other side by simmetry.
also a good idea is connecting the nose gear bulkhead with the center one , helping to distribute this bulkhead stress on a wider area. |
RE: Kangaroo formers?
good suggestion, the nose gear will be tied to the aft bulkheads by longerons, these will serve as the basis for the fuel cell mounts as well.
