Thread for pics, etc, from Wroughton in 2010...
Start off with pictures of Harry Curzon and his Aviation design F-100, and Andy Bascombe (with Geoff) and his Flash. Both models maidened at Wtn today. I took several pics of Harry's F-100 with his camera...with any luck he'll add some flying pics to this thread (that's a hint H !)... |

RE: Wroughton 2010
Hi Geoff here,
In case you are wondering what I am saying to Andy Bascombe, 'Whats with this black and white radio, Andy? Haven't you got a colour license' :D Geoff. |
RE: Wroughton 2010
G
All that quality between you fingers...;) Did you look after my aeroplane? D |
RE: Wroughton 2010
No No Dave, The only time I have quality between my fingers is when I'm having a pee!
Geoff. P.S. It flew lovely as all Flashes do and Andy loved it as well. |
RE: Wroughton 2010
Missed a good day . . . i am there next time!

Sunday the weather was better, the sun actually came out!! Andy Bascombe did a return trip, from West Sussex, for a few more flights on his new Flash, Phil Mackie demonstrated how low he could fly with his JC160 powered Bob Cat, I had my first flights on my Merlin 160 powered Jet Legend L39, complete with afterburner ring, and Ian Bailey flew his Elan. It was good to blow the cob webs away.

RE: Wroughton 2010
Hi John,
Good to see you got out yesterday. Was everything Ok with the L39? Geoff. |

Interested as I need one for my Mirage. Cheers, Dick |
RE: Wroughton 2010
Hi Geoff/Dick,The L39 flew great, I'm doing a couple of mods today on what I found. It has too much toe in on the wheels so I am trying to sort that. Also the rolls are not axial so I will experiment with differential aileron rates to find a cure. The afterburner wowed everyone. It is a unit that I got from Airfighter, in Berlin. It has a programable flicker effect and can be seen about a mile away. I'm very pleased with it, would look great on a Mirage.

Geoff you do realise that girls are joking when they say they would rather have quality rather then quantity :D Congrats on the maiden Harry, the F100 looks amazing. I can't wait to see it at the fist CJ of the year Duncan |
RE: Wroughton 2010
Hi James,
I've got the JR PCM12X TX and JR1221 Rx through a Powerbox Champion. My data logger confirmed it was working perfect. I'm not worried about the set up , it's Dunsfold I'm worried about. John |
RE: Wroughton 2010
HI John,
Ok. I was going to go for the weatronics set for dunsfold, could also then use for scanning at the site, was just going to pop it in a little prop plane and give it a try for a few goes to see what shows up. J |

Super day today at Wtn...all the paint stirrers had left by 1330 and there were only jets on the field! Harry Curzon flew his F-100 again (Wea equipped this time); Geoff aired the Bandit - first time in 5 months for this one, ready for next weekend at Shawbury; Roger Kilbey maidened his new Elan; Loz Hughes was flashing around with his Phoenix (goes really well, and Loz has got it well sorted now), Steve Elias put three more on his UB (that model is smooth as snake sh** !), and I put another four on my Wea equipped Velox.
A few pics follow of Loz's Phoenix and Harry's F-100... Cheers, Dick |

And another one of the F-100, plus one of Harry and Roger prepping the F-100 for flight and two others - one of Steve Elias flying his UB and the other of Loz - he's the chap who takes/posts the red hot photos of models and full-size on this and other forums...

...And three 'ground' shots showing Trapper White and his Bandit, Steve and his UB and a general shot of the pit area (is that the Trapper giving me the Bird?!)...

RE: Wroughton 2010
I have been wanting to see this F100 go . . . . but i keep missing it!!

RE: Wroughton 2010
Doesn't 2.4GHz look better! In post #1 picture 1 and in post #2 pic 4 you can see the huge 35MHz whip aerial on the F-100. Then look at the pics in posts 17 and 18, did you spot the stubby little black 2.4GHz "whip" in the same place or did you think it is a scale aerial!
