12x Programming question

Probably a dumb question, but Im trying to transfer all of my settings from my 10x to the 12x. On the sub trim for the flaps (and probly in other places) the 12x uses up and down (u and d). On the 10x they use + and -. Well it would be common sense to me to have the + be up and the - be down. Is this correct?

Also on the gear speed - 10x has a degree figure but the 12x has a decimal figure. ie: 10x 111degree vs 12x ??

I really don't want to have to hook up the boomer to a battery, unpack a wing and plug it in to find out if I dont have to.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

No way around it man. There is no correlation between the 10 and the 12. All your number will be different.

The hard way it is my friend!

ALL? Really? Travel and sub don't correlate? Crap. You mean I will have to disconnect all control horns on all of my jets and start over from ground zero? I guess I should do that anyway and recheck all of my throws. Nature of the beast I guess...

I found that several of the values are pretty close. But still to be on the safe side the best thing to do is put the plane together and measure all the throws first. Then transfer all of the servo directions and atv's into the 12x. Then turn everything on and make sure you have the correct movements. Adjust throws, and start adding mixes. I just setup the radio on the F100 from scratch and it took all of 30 minutes. When I did the phantom a couple of years ago it took about an hour from start to finish. Measuring all the throws and flap settings, and mixes just makes sure you have no surprises on the first flight with the 12x

Andy,
Go to the JPO website www.jetpilots.org click on the members tab and then go to knowledge bank and you wil find a good article that describes exactly what you are trying to do. I switched from the 10x to the 12x and I did mine like David described above and found some of the values to be pretty close. You might have to switch some channel assignments to make things come out right.
