Neat, what are you going to paint it up as?

Specs
What are the specs of the F86, I went to Trim's site and did not see the specs listed. Can you buy Trim products here in the U.S.?
Are there any U.S. Reps? Thanks David |

I wish i have a sabre for every color scheme I like. what determines my choice of color is some wonderful stuff I just received called flight metal. (thanks ED) I have to put some on my jet. The skyblazer is one of my favorite, but this means I have to cover the entire jet. I am going to do a minute men modified scheme. I ll post pics later Thanks Charlie H & Ken F. for all your help |

Sabre,
Looooookin' goooooood!!!!! I wish mine was that far along....How did you do the silver around the inlet??? Flight Metal, paint???? Kevin |
Very Nice !
I'm surprised that "she who must be obeyed" allows you to do your modelling in the lounge !
How do you keep it so clean ? My modelling room looks like sad-hams bunker. |

The nose was done with flite metal. last year a guy from south America (forgot his name), showed pictures on this forum of his JHH sabre all covered in flite metal. I e-mailed him to know how he did the nose. he said that he did the nose using only 6 pieces of flite metal. I dont know where this guy is, but I think he is a genius. It took me more than 6 pieces. Spartan Missle: I m happily divorced, but my mother is a KGB. |

good to hear from you Cairoman.
You are lucky to bathe in JetA daily. I have to go through so much trouble, and pull many strings to get some. |
Trimair - looking good
Sabre,
Keifak ya basha, or should I say Shlonak ya Khayii!! The reason for "bathing" is because I still haven't found a proper method to transfer Jet-A from the 50 GAL. drum to the field tank. So, you come to Cyprus and come flying with me, how about that! Chris |

I ll do that one day cairoman. I promise

Sabre,
Can you post some pics of the nose???? THANKS!!! Kevin |
Sabre's Sabre Nose...
Flite-Metal will stretch to conform in all directions. That was probably Pedro Garabello's F-86. I don't have the 3VU handy...as I recall, there are six drop formed inlet pieces on the full size.
Here's Rene Alverez's F-86 images: Speed Brake http://www.scaleaero.com/scaleaero/F86spedbrak.jpg Close up of the nose front top half...sorry it wasn't composed lower:^) http://www.scaleaero.com/scaleaero/migmadfocus.jpg |

I was afraid you ask me that. but here is a picture of the lip. flite metal is not hard to use, but needs a learning curve. I tried different things and I came up with a pattern that will look good from close range, and will disappear when you step just a few feet away from it. |

I'm wondering how to do this part myself on my BVM F-86. Seems like it'll be a lot of pulling and stretching to get it around the inside of the inlet.
