Dead 9303 problem
I have done some dumb things in my 60 years of modeling but this one is on top of the list.. I left my 9303 transmitter on all night. Of course the battery ran down, and I mean all the way. Apparently the back-up memory power went down also, I get nothing but lines across the screen.
I know nobody else has ever done this, but is there any hope of recovery?? Is the only solution a trip back to Horizon Hobby land?? John |

John
I feel your pain.:( I did the same thing about 2 weeks ago. I didn't even get lines across the screen. 12X SOLUTION: A new pack. I was using Eneloops |
RE: Dead 9303 problem
Sorry to hear this. You guys need that other brand that shuts itself after 15 minutes of non stick movement. :)

RE: Dead 9303 problem
Now thats a nice feature.
Unfortunately for me I don't use the "F" word:) |

RE: Dead 9303 problem
LimeyBob had an issue with his 9303 last night.
Screen suddenly started showing strange characters and now will no longer turn on. Any ideas? |
RE: Dead 9303 problem
John,
What kind of end does your battery pack have ???? Either gonna be a small white 2 wire conn., or a black small 2 wire conn. , or a 3 wire JR colored wire with a servo type connector. If it's the Servo type connector battery, I have one new in package from JR I can bring you in Mt. Pleasant. I bought it for a extra pack for my 10SX. JR discontinued that battery. As far as your backup memory, the lines you are seeing is probly from a small amount of voltage left in the pack. The Lithium Backup battery will not turn on the Tx or display on it's own. It's my opinion that you model storage data is fine. I'm also going by Waco Hobbby shop on my way up Monday, Max Blose own the shop and B+P Accociates which makes any type of battery you need. Great guy, been building batteries 30+ years.Give me a call as soon as you can if you wan't Max to build you a battery and I'll call him, I bet he'll have for me on monday. He is very reasonably priced too !!!! Danno 940.594.8675 |

I was using Eneloops I have a similar problem. 9303 dead , just get flash on the screen when I turn it on. Happend this morning checking the TX models, I saw all sorts of garbage in the model listings. Then it went dead. A fully charged pack didn't fix anything. Is there a factory reset I can use??? Help. RE: Dead 9303 problem
I saw this happen twice. 9303 left on over night. Dead battery and dead Tx. Charge the battery and still a dead Tx. Back to Horizon both times and both times a new encoder board.

RE: Dead 9303 problem
same happened to me, don't spend the money on a new battery yet, transmitter is dead, send it to horizon...
|
RE: Dead 9303 problem
are the model settings able to be saved?
|
RE: Dead 9303 problem
Only if you copied them on to your computer.....otherwise....bye, bye :(

My jr9303 radio was on for 7 month [X(] All i did was replace the battery [8D].

RE: Dead 9303 problem
Cut the lead off of your stock pack and solder them to one of my pre-welded eneloop packs. There really isn't a better battery pack on the market right now for the JR radios.

RE: Dead 9303 problem
Send it back to horizon. Its a problem with the 9303 radios that they loose encoding if the battery goes all the way down.
I hear they're supposed to have a fix/upgrade for it now and they will need to replace a board inside. Or something like that. Happened to a friend of mine and thats what horizon did |

RE: Dead 9303 problem
You can't leave the radio screen out facing in the sun for long periods, especially in TX or Fl! Makes the screen go blank.

RE: Dead 9303 problem
That is really odd that this many 9303's went out on the same day or afternoon. Mine did the same thing yesterday. I even tried another batt from my 9503 and still nothing... Perhaps it is a y2k10 thing... Guess it has to go back to horizon... otherwise love the radio... But for everyone out there do look at the sincityjets eneloops. I have researched this a bunch for my failing 12X and will definitely be upgrading both ASAP.

RE: Dead 9303 problem
Uh, mine happened a couple years ago, not recently.

RE: Dead 9303 problem
I believe the issue is heat related or something like that.
I replaced my battery with a 2700mah Nimh pack. After getting a couple of flights in yesterday, I put the transmitter back into my case and went home. I apparently left the transmitter on. Tonight, I went to do some setup work on a model, and discovered that my 9303 is quite dead. I took the battery out and put it in my wife's dx7, and the battery still had power, around 9.8v. So the battery never went anywhere near "low voltage", but the transmitter was on inside the transmitter case for ~22 hours from what I remember based on when I left the field last night and when I grabbed to this evening. |
