RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
On the subject of Tomahawk models, anyone heard anything further about the 1/3.5 scale F-86? This L-39 is seriously looking the goods.

RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
Ok, Ok. So the car is small but that does not take away from the fact that this is one big albatross.
There will be no sleeping on my front tonight :D My order went in about 12 weeks ago, and I hope to be flying mine at Jet power this year. Thomas is offering some special offer for those ordering before or at Jet Power. Target weight is low ( around 20 Kg is possible) So well within the American 55 lbs rule. I expect it will be the same super level of scale detail as the big hawk. Loving the way the fuselage splits for transit. Regards Al http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/a...y/DSC_0357.jpg |

Oh, and best of all... Intakes that look like they will be mating to a bypass:D Now I really am happy.

RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
How in the world do they get something that big WET under 55lbs? I don't see it.
|
RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
Super light construction. The lightest, strongest, composite available. You have to see it in person. some kind of foam, glass composite. Even the spars are this foam composite.
I believe The company that does the layups builds gliders. Scott |
RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
20K is 44.2 lbs. That leaves only 10.8 lbs for fuel, turbine, electronics, gear etc. I would be curious to see the actual numbers.

RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
What dates are Jet Power this year?
|
RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
So is this larger than the new skygate L39? Are these guys always going to make the same plane only different sizes?
|
RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
It looks a little different to the Skygate L39. Very different with the way it splits and hatches etc where as the hawk is just a bigger version of the sky gate example. Found the dates for Jet Power.

RE: NEW L-39 from Tomahawk
Has anyone seen either of these fly? I would like to consider one.
