fuel pump mode of failure

Anyone ever had a fuel pump fail intermittently where the engine would pulse slightly as the pump stalled very briefly? Just found this condition on an old pump thats been in service since 2006. It has over 70 hours of run time. 75% of that at full engine power with a pump voltage of about 1.5 to 1.6v. I log my ECU data after all my flights and there was no bad trend with this pump or anything else until just recently. I guess I should replace pumps on a more regular schedule. Was I pushing my luck with this pump at that age?

RE: fuel pump mode of failure

A couple of years ago i was flying my SM F-86 with P-80 power and she seemed to be sluggish that day. After the 5th flight i put the gsu on it and found out the motor was running on 115.8k instead of 120k. End result was a worn fuel pump.
