Roll Call For Jets Over Whidbey (JOW)
1 Attachment(s)
It's time to see who's coming to JOW the last weekend in August (27 - 29). This is the premier jet event in the pacific northwest featuring a 200 x 5000 ft runway with unlimited flying space. This year's banquet will feature retired Rear Admiral Bill Newman - Navy fighter pilot, test pilot, and Blue Angel no. 1 pilot - as the guest speaker. The $35 entry fee includes lunch on Fri and Sat for both the pilot and his assistant, and a tee shirt for the pilot. The attached flyer shows who to contact for more info.

Can someone tell me how to make the flyer appear in the post?

You need to resave it as a jpg file, the pdf won't show up as the flyer.
I'll be there, trying to talk Buffy into coming too! |

Eric - and others - recommend the Countryside Inn - 360-678-6710 - talk to Ms Harvey. It's close to the field - about a mile off the end of the runway.

I'll be there with my electron powered BVM Fury. Are there any other electron powered jets planning to be there? Be aware, the minimum sized fan allowed during event hours is 100mm.

We'll see if we can get kev-o to do some of his ribs - either way, I'm in with Jeremy. PaulD |

Wow, good to see the excitement is building on this one already. Al and Bob really put together a great meet, as was the case with Roy and Chuck for so many years before. Someone's just gotta convince JohnVH to come out of hibernation with his Fury this year... At the very least we'll need his camera again!
I'm planning to be there for all 3 days, including the banquet. I'll lean on a few more of the local BC guys to make the trip as well. Just 24 more sleeps! :D Kelly |

Got back from Kentucky Jets last week and two days later my dad passed away. His funeral was yesterday and although we are sad at his passing, life continues on. We will be there for the weekend and will go to the dinner. Looking forward to the event.

RE: Roll Call For Jets Over Whidbey (JOW)
Question, why does the flying end at 5? If I was to be able to make it I would want to leverage every bit of daylight I could.
Please Advise. |
RE: Roll Call For Jets Over Whidbey (JOW)
Hi Dave,
The event flying ends at 5.00pm and we then go to ''open'' flying so you can fly as long as you want. Probably should have stated that in the schedule. Al Watson, CD. |
