Trailing Link Question?

I have trailing link gear on my Boomerang Nano. The bolt on the front of the nose gear was stripped and I replaced it. The problem is stretching the spring to replace the bolt. Is there a special tool or technique to put it back in?

Thanks for any help.

Hal

RE: Trailing Link Question?

Hi Hal,
Was just about to reply to your email but I will respond here as others may benefit.
Mount the strut in a vise at the top section of the strut.

1) remove the pivot screw from the lower link
2) slide off the lower fork taking the spring with it
3) If you where replacing the spring, remove the spring bolt and spacer noting spring mounting direction
4) replace the spring using the reverse methods, threadlock the screw.
5) Slide the spring loop over the upper spring/pivot pin retaining bolt
6) Slip the lower fork over the upper strut tab
7) insert a thin screwdriver between the upper strut and the lower fork slot and pry the fork upwards till the bolt hole lines up
8) put threadlock on the pivot bolt and reinstall.
