I have never flown an model aircraft how ever I have neen reading about it for quite sometime. I just need basic info on how they work. I am going to build a twin turbine f-18 I like perfomance. I want to know what kind of difficulties will I run into with this. Will I have any problems mounting two jetcat P-120 each with 27lb thust and at full power will burn 24oz of fuel a min
I would also like at least 15 to 20 min of flight time so fuel would be a problem. Were and how can I store more fuel i am looking at some where between 12 to 15 liters. where can I put it and how and will weight of the fuel be a problem too. Also what parts to you recomment such as servos, radio, fuel, ect.

If you were to have a spring loaded reel, and run a line to the ground, that 20 minute flight time would be no problem at all.

anybody that read this ad, and actually responds to it in any other way must also lost his mind. Why dont you go and get a right flyer 60 first and then come back after about 3 years then we can discuss your needs. All i see is that your blowing a hell of a lot of smoke nothing else. Thats my opinion and I will stick to that. Have seen to many ads like this and i consider them a waste of time. If you really want help find another subject and dont waste people's time that are really trying to help people.

If you have read alot about model flying why ignor everyones advice!!!
Get a high wing trainer, 40 size glow engine and a 4 channel radio and get some experience.

first I am a LT in the U.S. Navy and yes I am a Pilot I find ways to make **** happen I think that if I can fly a f-18 and catch a little wire on a carrier than I can fly a model jet no problem. I tend to make **** happen and I have the money to spend. I was just looking for some input before I put my imagination to work I learned a long time ago that the sky is the limit and any one can do what ever they set out to regardless of experience.

try out a 40 size trainer and see how fast your full scale abilities prove useless. i have numerous hours in gen av planes and though the principles are the same, the reality of standing on the ground flying an aircraft vs. sitting in the seat are worlds apart, your control inputs are wildly different as well.

I have seen aggressive pilots work thier way into jets in about 18 months, pretty much flying every weekend to get there. starting with a 40 size trainer, working through more advanced aircraft until they get to a jet. wadding up a $200 trainer and a few other aircraft along the way rather than the big splash of wadding up a $10,000 jet that you propose to build. the questions you are asking will be answered along the way, along with the hundreds of other questions that will be coming up too.

be a bit patient and yes it can happen. if you want it now that twin turbine f-18 is out there. you can write a check and have it delivered. make sure you have video going, and please call the fire department ahead of time if you do go that route.

My god man, you want to jump right into a turbine aircraft without any flying experienace at all.

I would have suggest against doing this. I dont care if your Bob Kress himself, you will have to learn from the beginning.

it is all a matter of scale. If the LT wants an F-18 about 14 feet long, with TONS AND TONS of wing to carry that much fuel, I think AMT makes some 50 pound thrust turbines, two might get him off the ground. If he has the cash, and the HOOOOOOTZPA to give it a go, what the hell.
