Byron F-16 Elevator Trim position

I'm about to test fly my Byron F-16 but there is something in the manual that confuses me. In the balancing and trimming section it states "Elevator Leading edge is 1/4" up from bottom of wing shelf : Trailing edge is even. " On my plane if I set the elevator leading edge to 1/4 '" above the wing sheft the trailing edge is 5/16 " below the wing shelf , not even with it. It could be a real handful to fly if I don't get this at least close to neutral. Could someone out there with an Byron F-16 take a look at their elevator and tell me where there leading edge and trailing edge are at neutral ?

Thanks

Looked at mine, the leading edge is 1/4" up from the bottom of the wing shelf, and the trailing edge lines up even with the ABS speed brake.

Is it possible that the ABS speed brakes were installed incorrectly? I would go with the measurement at the leading edge.

don't worry!

Don't worry! I've had five of them! Some I built some by others and as long as the 1/4 is done at the leading edge, you will be fine. If you really are worried just take back off the speed brake abs plastic and reglue correctly to where the trailing edge lines up. good luck on your maiden flight! KG

f-16 elevators

same happens to me ! . if the plastic part( air brake) is properly instaled, i recomend you to aling i the trailing edge of the elevator with it , even if you have to put the leading edge of the elevator flush with the wing shelf.
on my firts fly i apply up elevator went i released , the plane goes down like a rocket ; i have to apply full up trim and still need a bit of more up. went i check the elevators , the trailing edge was about 1/16 over the the air brake.
im dont telling you that this is your case , just be carefull !! because those full flying stabs are very sensitive.
