Default Going to get my SS!!!

In about an hour, I'm traveling to a hobby shop an hour away to get my savage SS. Just had to tell everyone...I know, I know...I'm a dork.

Yeah, I bought it for $348. I just opened the box and peeked inside. Somone mentioned that the shocks were already assembled on another thread. NOT TRUE. The tranny and diffs were already assembled though. I don't know why hpi would do that. I'll start assembly over the weekend. It shouldn't take me that long since this will be my 4th kit.

I saw a post on another forum where another guy got one and posted a pic of the wheels and hexes. His had the updated hexes stapled to the instructions and also had the old style in the parts as well. Did you get the same. If so what are the differences of the new hexes?

I also have a bag stapled to the bag carrying my rims and it has steel hexes. I don't know if the previous ones were steel and I don't know if I have the old style hexes (haven't opened any of the bags yet). This is my first savage, so I don't know what the original hexes looked like.

Yeah, actually that is where his new ones were stapled. Those are the new ones. You probably have the old ones too then. The old ones are just flat edged metal hexes. The new ones are supposed to be ribbed or grooved or something to help prevent wheel stripping. When you start digging in, let us know what they look like.

Since I didn't already have a radio, I bought a JR XR3i that came with 2 servos (one of which is supposed to be a "high torque metal-geared" servo). We'll see how they work out

I plan on having it all built by wednesday or thursday...I'll let you know. Usually, when an engine is brand new, it will be hard to start...especially during break in.
