i want to get the savage ss kit but my parents say it is too expensive. so i was wondering if there are any other monster truck kits that aren't as expensive as the savage ss.

RE: cheap kit
yes it's RTR but all you have to do is hit a few curbs and roll it a few times and youwill have a "kit" :-)
no just joking I got one 2 weeks ago and for the money it's perfect.

the nitro stampede is 289 and its 2wd, but its a lot of fun. its a very tough truck and it handles rough stuff almost as well as a 4wd anyway. only thing that stops it is semi big rocks and sand, unless you lock the diff up. theres also the duratraxx max. mt for ~220, but i have no idea how good it is. never drove or even saw one run.

R/C car guy have you checked ebay? sometimes you can find a good deal on a used truck on there.
Also you seem like you may be young ...no insult i wish i was youngerbut just a suggestion...if you have your heart set on a savage then maybe find out what your parents are willing to spend and try to earn a little extra cash on your own doin stuff to make up the difference in price. It might take you a few weeks to make the diff. in money but if your parents see that you are willing to work to get what you want then they may be impressed and help chip in a little more! Just an idea.

Yes the Cen MT2 has good power. The T-Maxx has a 2.5cc where as the MT2 is a 2.67cc. I have a MT2 and love it. It does not come in kit form that I know of though.
I agree w/ Maxxoverkill........save your money and get a Savage if that is what you really want.

I sugest a Savage 21 its fast, big, rtr, strong and cheap. If you want to convince your parents to let you buy it then tell them every possible detail about it tell them that it will last for a long time and that it is cheap to run.

RE: cheap kit
I have a VERY easy way to convince them.
I got a savage ss and beat ten tons of crap out of it over the past week - I've just broken my first part, a £6 piece of plastic.
I also have a CEN TR4. Since I got that six weeks ago, I've had to buy a few sets of diff cups, dogbones, wishbones, drive belts, gearboxes...........
The Savage might be more in the first lump sum (I've spent around £700 on mine altogether), but it's a LOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT cheaper in the long run that a lot of other cars.
I'm sure anyone else who has a savage on here will back me up too
