Default Help for a newbie!

Hi all

just joined and already looking for some help!

I've got an HSP tornado 1/8 nitro monster truck, it uses a particularly unusual long clutch bell (10T). The bell consists of a couple of bearings and a "sleeve" to extend the crank and allow the bell to mesh with the drivetrain. This has suffered some serious wear so i've set about replacing it - but i'm having a nightmare! the HSP part number is 83003 and seems to be quite hard to come by! I found one at monkey hobby and ordered it in. when it arrived however, the part is completely different - the clutch bell still has 10T but is about 10-15mm shorter than the original housing, meaning it cannot mesh with the drivetrain. If i move the engine mountings to allow it to reach this will caus the flywheel to snag the disc brakes - not to mention cause problems with the exhaust mounting!

I've contacted a few places over here in the UK and have been told by one that HSP have shipped the incorrect item out labeled as 83003 and the clutch assembly is for a different model and to hold fire until about the end of July until they will try and get more stock. However, monkeyhobby have now replied saying that the original clutch assembly has now bee discontinued and this is the new one to use - but can't tell me how it's meant to fit!

Can anyone help me? I have a nice new .28 Force engine sitting waiting to be broken in and can't do anything with it.....

I think they make a off set fly wheel ,an I know they make a smaller diameter one.
Also, the losi clutch bell might be longer ,an they make a 13 t in which if tried to up a tooth ,you might can gain enough
clearance to clear your brake.

These are only suggestion ,you would have to do your own homework!
I hope this may help!..
