Default Broken Piston Skirt

My 2.5 was not running well, so i took it apart and found parts of the piston skirt were broken off. What is the cause of this? Some have said high speed on pavement but traxxas has a on-road car with the same engine. Confussed?

Yes, that happened to me too. I believe the cause is a combination of heat and bad materials. It happens, just run a better engine now.

Default RE: Broken Piston Skirt

I'm sorry, what is a piston skirt? Is that the side part of the piston?

Well, it is concievable that the con rod may have hit the piston causing damage.

Thats the only thing I can think of
