Default Typical Nooobie Question

Hello!
First time poster,,long time lurker.
After being out of the hobby for MANY years, I picked up a new Savage 25 RTR.
Did the engine break in today, made sure to put the piston at BDC, but don't have time to mess with it any more tonight.
Is there anything I need to do tonight,, or tomorrow before I fire it up to break in the diffs?
You folks have a great forum here.
I'm old(44) and figured I'd run into a bunch of smart*****ed kids on a RC forum.
Everyone here is very helpful.
Thanks!
RR

I have a Savage but not the .25. I have heard that some of the backplates come loose and you have to take the engine out and locktight the baclplate. Check and see if there is a red X on the bottom of the box. If there is then it has been done already. If not you need to locktight the backplate. If you have any trouble or any questions. please feel free to email me. I am not old(44) but I am not a kid either. I am 23 and have been in R/C for 10 years. I would be more than happy to help you in any way possible.

Thanks, Jeff

Thanks Jeff, I apprectiate it!
Things sure have improved since I was last into RC cars!
My box does have the X on the bottom and "Factory Sealed" tape on the edges.
I'm sure I'll have more questions. Most have been answered by just surfing the forum.
THANKS,
RR

Racing Rob,

IBM R&D? I've met a few R/C'ers a lot older than you, i.e. a 70+ something year old man driving 1/4 scale. Have fun R/C'ing.

I wouldnt say you are old. I am 25 and am the youngest person in the bash group except for my younger brother. The Savage 25 rocks, stick to the break in, it will be a blast.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Badboy, I chose the Savage after lurking on a couple forums and talking to the guys at a couple LHS. (There's a couple kids at one LHS that have adopted me as the local newbie)
I figure my backplate is ok. Do I need to Locktite the Rotostart screws?
Which locktite do I use?
Thanks,
RR

I would use red on the backplate and blue on the rotostart case.
