Wait, or Don't wait.. ??? Tis' the question!
well, after all the confusion, and fuss about the t-maxx, and savage. I finally got to talk to my dad. He said that since (i live in canada) all the good quality mt's are so expensive
($600-$700) that, i either gotta wait, and save up for a truck, or i can look into a cheap nitro car, that will suffice. Now, anyone with brains wood most probably say: WAIT!!, IT's WORTH IT! but i cant wait... all this hype, and all the visits to my LHS are driving me crazy. What would you do? Plus: is there any truck that isnt so expensive that is decent? And, would you settle for a touring car or stadium truck (something you didn't really prefer) because you can't wait???
I know it sounds dumb, but there has gotta be someone out there who knows where I'm comin from.!! LOL
Thanx guys

Hi adsky, do your self a favor and try your best to get a savage, the .21 is discounted and is still found in many hobbys stores, one of my LHS is selling the SAVAGE .21 rtr for $550.oo (CND$), its a good one if your on a budget. This kit is the BEST for newbies and others too. It gives your the best bang for the buck!
Just watch out, you may have to fight your dad for the controller lol.

You can get a savage 21 new in box from ebay for $380 (US) with shipping included to the states so to ship to Canada would I'm guessing be about $10-$15.
The exchange rate is good right now (about 25%). That works out to approx $500.

Adsky,
I rarely if ever recomend that someone NOT get something however do yourself a favor and skip the Tower ST-15 (sorry Avalanche!). Those things aren't worth the box they're shipped in. After I got my HPI NMT, my father in law and his son came over and watched me run it. They really liked it and wanted something similar.
We bought both him and his son ST-15's for christmas and I'm sorry to say, those things are nothing but trouble. Everything broke on both of them! There was a thread going around a while back about how to make the ST15 a decent truck. Unfortunately, you can spend $100 to $150 to try and upgrade it and it still wont be anything close to something like a RC10GT or a Losi XXX-NT.
I PM'd you a recomendation on how to get what you want without having to go through all the tax problems. If that doesn't work for you, then save your money until you can get what you want.

Monster Pirates are pretty cheap and it's a sturdy truck with a reasonably powerful engine. They can also be upgraded to dominator specs fairly easily.

i say get the ofna ultra mbx pro. it isn't a monster truck but it is still a good off-raod vehicle. it is also fairly cheap. it is about $330 in the USA but i don't know how much it costs in Canada. or you can get a t-maxx. i think they are a little cheaper than a savage.
for cheap prices go to ultimatehobbies.com. but i'm not sure if they ship to Canada, you'll have to check.
