it depends on how much money you can spend on it. if you have a lot of money to spend the t-maxx is definatly better because it has been around longer and has more hop-up options. but if you don't have as much money the savage is better becuase it is more durable.

wait a sec, the tmaxx is cheaper period
get the savage 25 rtr its 1/8 scale which is bigger than tmaxx because it is 1/10 and they both go 40mph. the savage has better hopups and durability.
if its bigger and faster and stronger and only $20 more, why not get the savage 25 rtr. plus the savage has the longest shocks and a bigger much more powerful engine
compare tmaxx 1.3hp vs. savage 25 rtr 2.5hp. big difference in horsepower. the savage layout is so much better looking too.

eh... tmaxx goes about 45 mph... savage with 18CB goes 38-40 mph depending on the surface. Also, the 1.3 HP is a realistic number, as the 2.5 ISNT. I can almost guarantee you that BB doesnt put out more than 2 HP. As for better looking, thats to your own opinion, the Tmaxx definately looks better IMO, jus crappy performance all around would stop me from buying it.

I just bought my Savage 25, it's a nice rig for sure. Being a machinist by trade, I have many ideas in store for it. The first being a custom roll bar to protect that big head, skid plate etc etc.

if you want a stock basher go with the savage and if you want a sweet project car go with the maxx.

if you put them both on a track stock the tmaxx will kill the savage!

Get the savage - I own a TMaxx and not durable enough. Need deep pockets to replace parts all the time.

Not really, every imaginable hop up for the Savage is out and at almost any decent LHS. There is nothing that isnt readily available for the Savage.

I vote the savage, and then buy a maxx. Or heck, buy em both at the same time, then get the MGT after that. Honestly though...How many times will this question get asked?

Haha. thats pretty funny.

Prove it!!!

You say all this stuff but you never put the data/facts proving it?? IF you know what a spread sheet is(doubt it though), you can punch in the #'s (meaning gear ratios, 1st, 2nd, final, and all the other #'s thats it says you need, like # of teeth on the ring and pinion, clutch bell, spur gear, ect....) and find it's 'theredical' top speed. Meaing it will only go that fast if there were not wind restance or gravity, ect. to slow a truck down. If you put the t-maxx's #'s in it will say that it can do 'almost' 45mph i think the exact # is 44.6MPH. thats with nothing to solw it down. Now put it on the road after about a gallon of fuel run through it and tune it for maxx power and you mught be able to get 42-43mph MAX depending on how good of a tuner you are and the running conditions.

Now about the savage.... I'm not going to wast my time with you it's not worth it.

Just step up and be a man and accept the facts. shesh[:'(]

OK??

I did not strick you down by calling you names, all i did was prove you were wrong....again.

I did not say anthing about the MGT in my post, so why are you bringing it up, i think you got scared.

I proved you wrong with some 'facts' and you can't prove the 'facts' wrong....making you call me stupid and saying that i'm "more biased" about the MGT than you are about your truck. What are you talking about man????

I said nothing about the MGT, I'm going to step up, and not say anything about it.

And I'm not going to "recommend" anything, see i'm not like you.

I think that witch ever truck he pics he will be happy with.

I had 2 TMaxx's - sold 1 on Ebay and hopped the other. It is a fun truck to mess with (But I think MOST RC's are fun) Only get it if you want to put a lot of money into hopups. Otherwise get the Savage.

Casey, hey man just so ya know, your making yourself look like an ass...
chill...

anyway, the savage SS is a kit not a RTR, you might be thinking of the Savage 25 RTR.

if so it's a good truck and lots of fun. either one you will end up at sometime buying something for it so be prepared for that.

I thought only difference from the Savage kit and RTR was the kit you have to put together, but ALL same pieces and no radio. The RTR is all together and has radio.

The SS comes with HD dogbones all the way around,2 shoe clutch, and a ribbed tuned pipe. The 25RTR come with standard dogbones,a 3 Shoe clutch, composite pipe, updated fuel tank, and the radio gear. The SS is nice because it is a kit and it comes with the good pipe and HD bones but HPI screwed up by not including the 3 shoe clutch and the New fuel tank.I really wish they would have released it over here without an engine too.

I would pick the savage a lot more durable. The only thing I dislike about the savage is much more complicated to work on.I just wish that hpi would have use a chasis plate and mounted all suspension, servos, radio and tank on it. It would have made it easier to work on and upgrade. The reason I would pick savage over traxxas is because it has less plastic.
