RE: Schumacher Menace 21
The Menace is definitely up there when it comes to "cool factor" but for me, the jury is still out. From what I've read about it, it performs really well and the speed, well, thats just borderline insane. Funny thing is, is that the one thing that would keep me from buying it is the speed. I can't imagine what I would be left with after hitting something or cartwheeling at 70mph. I'm guessing that you would have to replace 1/2 the truck. Better have some deep pockets!
I'm not knocking it, I'm just not sure I see the purpose. I guess you could smoke everybody in a straight line BUT, you have to turn eventually and something traveling at 70mph probably takes some distance to slow down. I guess if you're just bashing, it would be neat but if you're looking to race, you may want to look in another direction.

RE: Schumacher Menace 21
I would not buy one as my primary Mt. But I sure wouldnt mind having one just to see it hit 70 mph. They did a review of it in the January addition of xtreme rc

I personally been thinking of a stadium truck or MT to toy with and have a buggy for racing. Here in the UK Schumacher brand is popular. I like doing more wheelies and 2 wheel drive can get you through A LOT more than people lead you to think on this board. The XTR3 looks sweet.
But how does either truck truely handle is the question.

I agree with Dagss - What if I hit something at the speed. But then again at that speed, imagine how big a jump I can pull. But will it be in one piece when it lands????? Who knows.

Picture the smile on your face when you blow down the street at 70 mph. All the neighbors will be out watching and all the kids will be screaming. Aaaahhh! RC nirvana! What could be better? Then as the crowd grows, so does your confidence. Now you're putting on a show for everybody in the neighborhood and everybody is loving it.
All of the sudden somebody steps out into the street or somebody backs out of the driveway. You get hard on the wheel to avoid them and BAM!!!!! straight into the curb at 70+mph. Your joy turns to tears in about 2 seconds and your neighbors leave you to pick up the pieces. Well, it was fun!
Just a thought!

ROFLMAO - I thought of getting one but the 2 wheel drive. Then putting street tyres on it and a regular car body, lower the suspension. Taking to halifax Raceway and going against the touring cars.
I only say the 2 wheel drive because - 1> Easier to do donuts 2> be the only racer doing wheelies on the straights.

A definate posibility. I can remenber my rs2 racer 2 which was pride and joy. I had her running 65Mph . Iwas dailing in the 2 speed in the hobby shop parking lot. The crowd grew, they were all amazed at the speed. I had her heading straight towards me at top speed as the crowd cheered I hit the brakes but she kept coming. then I turned left no responce. Any way she hit the curb at top speed. $200 dollars worth of damage. She looked like a banana, parts were everywhere. I can still here the owner of the Pizza shop saying " DAMN that thing was fast".
Ill give you guys 5 tries the first person who can guess why it went out of controll can have my Revolution wheel mounted on mayhem tires. They are like brand new and fit the t-maxx and Savage

RE: Schumacher Menace 21
Somehow you lost the receiver. But I assume you're looking for something more specific.
Loose battery cord
Cut through battery cord
RX burned out
Failsafe failed
Battery failed/died
Crystal fell out/burned out
TX batteries died
Antenna cord failed/cut
How's that for a start...

RE: Schumacher Menace 21
Ok, I'll get specific. Maybe I'll win for effort... LOL
So, you're dialing in the 2-speed and finally get it set up where you want it. Off you go...vrooommm...oops... Left the driver sitting on the car before you put the body back on. Suddenly rrrrcrckckk...and the driver slips, touches the ground and catches the battery cord as it twists its way out of the car, ripping it out of the receiver. Viola - unguided missle
Or, more simply, and from personal experience: Your failsafe went off and instead of shutting the car down, it floored it. All in all, I'm not sure that the electronic failsafes are a good investment.

RE: Schumacher Menace 21
Heres what happened . My receiver wire was laying on top of the drive belt. After 2 or three high speed passes it chewed straight threw the wire. Un fortunately the last command before I lost the radio was wide open throttle

RE: Schumacher Menace 21
Well i have the XTR-3E and its INSANE...........it will pull wheelies in all 3 speeds.........do donuts untill the tanks empty........brakes are ok.........the only thing i did was to increase the front end weight with the RX batterys because when it hits its 3rd gear it takes off.
For all out fun these are just so much fun.........for bashing they arent very strong but the menace is better off-road because of the 4wd.
