Savage, Really worth it?
I was in my local hobby shop lookinga t the savage. $629.99 CANADIAN!
At this price is it really worth buying? I am only 14 and to get this truck i will have to work my tail off. Is this truck worth working really hard over?

As Hell Savage said, if you are unsure if you can afford a Savage the Cen Fun Factor MT2 may be a better choice. It is a very durable truck, and very reliable. Since you live in Canada I would check on parts availability before you buy any truck though. If you want more info on the Cen truck go to www.cenracing.com or let me know. waihiwa2 can help you as well.

i feel your pain braden.
i'm only 14 too and for me its over $1000 australian i'm lookin at for a savage.
but i've chickened out so many times and gotten myself a cheaper vehicle, just look at my cars below!
but each time i think i have regreted it, as i still feel empty, and i still find myself looking through ebay.
i have no experience with the savage, but it's realy up to you, it seems a great truck, and if you have the guts to branch out, i say go for it!

The Savage is worth the money when you look at how durable it is in comparision to others. And I see your in Okotoks, best place to deal with is Hobby Guys in Calgary. (Go see Todd, Brian or Trent.) They have reasonable prices and customer service that the other shops in town can't compare to! (They'll have time for all the help you'll need after the sale!)

my real problem is my hobby shop (Toyworld) they don't even stock 20% fuel. 16 is their highest, so i'm not sure how long it will take them to get parts

Hobby Guys is right across the street from Peters Drive Inn on 16th avenue. The people there are way better to deal with IMO and all of them have been in the hobby for years. Todd was the r/c car dept manager at PM for years until he left that place and started Hobby Guys and Trent quit PM to go work at Hobby Guys. PM has not been the same ever since. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did.

RE: Savage, Really worth it?
Well as of today, I am 85 dollars closer to a savage. My parent's won't let me take money out of my bank acount so i will have to work it off. I have 85 bucks so far. Shoveling snow is great, the old people are nice and some of them give you cookies. (lol). And i will try hobby guys and tell my grandpa about it. Thanks for all your replies.

Lots of people cruise ebay for RC no matter what your age. It's always fun to see other options.
Someone here got a really BEATEN Savage from ebay. Price was lower but, he did not feel good about it as the truck was in much worse shape then he thought. When it comes to nitro MT's I would not get one from ebay. Just my opinion. I'm sure yours will come in time!

RE: Savage, Really worth it?
Well, i had 80, and this elderly lady i have been shoveling for finally paid me $60 bucks for 2 1/2 months. ANd now my dad owes me. YES Savage is getting closer all the time. And i know ebay is a good place to shop, i just don't like the idea of sending my money to someone and than have the chance of getting nearly 700 bucks stolen.

Amen to that.......If I were you I would get from a hobby shop (local or internet) Ebay is good for some new things but used vehicles can be overly exaggerated on how good a shape they are in.

I bought an RC10 off ebay a few years ago the guy said it was new and only had a few tanks after breaking it in yeah the thing was a mess parts falling off nothiing was clean when he sent it I just filed a complaint and sent it back to him. you never know how these things are broken in I would only buy another truck off ebay if it was new or didnt include an engine.

RE: Savage, Really worth it?
A buddy of mine has lived in Calgary for the last few years and just came home only 2 months ago or so....I will ask him where he got his truck out there (it may even be the same place as G1GY is suggesting) but he only paid $550 tax in for his SS. I know that the RTR is more $$$ but is it really that much more? I will post again with the name of the place...

RE: Savage, Really worth it?
$160 minus the 5 bucks for my g/f's b-day present so $155. The only thing is about the savage is i really can't see spending $700 bucks on a truck, but after i do spend it i will be happy! Lol Now i must go look for some more jobs i can do. Theres a whole lot of it if you go and look. ANd thanks in2jeepin, any help is great.
