Team Associated MGT!
I saw one at my LHS and that thing is one sweet looking monster truck!! I have no money right now, but I wish I had one. The engine is so huge on it too! Didn't really look like it could take too much of a beating though[:'(]. I was just wondering if anyone had one and what do you think about it (I'm not planning on getting one, I just want to hear what you think about it).

RE: Team Associated MGT!
I have an mgt (actually its the thunder tiger version, but they are identical) It has a really nice engine, easy to break in and easy to start and tune, its one of the bigger trucks available at the moment and is well equipped straight out the box. Its not the fastest truck out but is by no means the slowest and it handles great in the air and on the ground. Its a good choice for a first truck, and if you get the urge for more speed eventually, it can handle a .40 engine on the standard running gear, all in all, its a good allrounder, I would definatly reccomend it, its very easy to work on, comes with a high torque sevo for the steering, and it has reverse, which is good, for a newb! lol

Does it have all metal gearing in it out of the box? Because you said it can withstand a .40 and you really need metal tranny and others too!

I'm trying to talk my dad into getting into R/C. I think I did it, he just said he was gonna get something later on down the road. So, I'm on the search! What makes the MGT great? The one at my LHS had these plastic chassis extenders on the side, seems like those are gonna break easy, but I don't know. Give me some info on it.

My son and I both have MGT's. We mainly race and are both seasoned drivers so our trucks have held up well. Broken bumpers, that's about it. We had Savage 21's before and and suffered through all the growing pains. We both like the MGT very much and would highly recommend it .

This thing is awesome. The trans gears are heavy plastic, but the rest of the drivetrain is metal.
Some early kits had problems with the trans gears, but Asociated has it fixed.
We just got back from beating the heck out of mine (8 foot vertical drops), with no problems.
Get one - you will not be sorry.

The side trays are plastic, but they carry no load, apart from the fuel tank.
I have tumbled mine pretty good, and not had any problems with the side trays.
The main chassis is a serious hunk of aluminum.

I have nearly a gallon through mine and still have nothing bad to say about the truck. My initial thoughts were to replace the fake piggyback shocks and upgrade the radio. So far I have dumped the 4 cell battery pack for a [link=http://www.badhorsie.com]badhorsie[/link] rechargeable hump pack and I will eventually pick up another airtronics receiver for use with my Maxx or Savage MX-8. The shocks seem to hold up nicely, better than the stock Traxxas Ultra Shocks in my opinion but some nice AE aluminum piggyback shocks will certainly set things right.

I havge one and have run two gallons thru it with no trouble to date other than breaking an axle hub at the track. I have been run for several year and love this thing.

Jeff guest would of won with his xtm mammoth if it wasnt for him losing rear wheel drive. Yes the mgt's engine is underpowered. If i am correct it only has 2.1 hp. Rcca clocke3d the mgt at 32mph

RE: Team Associated MGT!
They clocked in at 32 on the back straight of their course, not a full run up.
I consistently keep up with or beat my friend's .21 powered T-Maxx. Slow it aint.
Besides, the stock gearing is weighted toward low end acceleration. Top speed in a monster truck means absolutely nothing.
Have you ever driven one or seen one in person?

RE: Team Associated MGT!
GO back and read the article. They clearly state they measured the speed on the track's back straight.
I guess since you have passed on the question twice now that you have never actually seen an MGT, but are just another guy who likes to bash stuff he has not owned or seen in person.
Lame.

I'd love to keep up this pointless conversation with you about your in depth knowledge of a truck you have never even seen, but I have to watch South Park.
Since there is nothing I, as an actual MGT owner and driver, can tell you about the MGT, there is no point in continuing this.
Maybe you could start a thread about the LST, or maybe even the new Traxxas Revo - you;ve neverf seen them either, so you must be an expert on them, too.
Mega Lame.
