Look's OK for the beginner, but as you suggested in the review metal spur? it sounds like this "All terain vehicle" LOL has a similar problem as the savage when it comes to stipping the teeth. A metal gear may just move the prob to a more expensive component wich may take longer to replace. Maybe the prob was the engines position, not enough backlash in the bell to spur meshing.
