Will changing crystals effect radio?
I was wondering if changing the crysatls in my radio would effect it such as give it shorter range. I went from a 27.045 mhz crystal to a 27.095 chrystal

Yes it will have an effect but nothing really noticeable... You said you went from a 27.045 to a .095 it will effect it... nothing that you will see though...

No, it will not affect it. The crystal only determines what frequency the radio transmits and recieves at. the transmitter determines what distance the system works at. How ever, Better quality crystals will have an affect on how well the signal gets transmitted, this will affect how well the system works at maximum distance.

The radio transmitters are tune to the middle of the frequency band range
So going from .045 to .095 actually will make you radio work better
But like the others have said, the difference is not noticeable without real expensive test equipment
