Default Velcro body attachment - XTM Mammoth

I've seen some of the pro buggy racers that have used velcro to attach their bodies. They have done this for quick fill ups and restarts if needed.

I am looking for some suggestions for doing this on an XTM Mammoth so that I can:

1) Quick Fill ups
2) Quick Restarts
3) Quick Body Changes for the heck of it.

I have cut some of my other bodies to allow for quick fillups and restarts without removing the body, but that means that I have to cut my newly painted bodies.

I would like to use a velcro type of quick attach and release to allow all of the above.

I was hoping that someone might have already done this and could save me some steps.

Thanks,

Byron

that sounds like a good idea and when you land on the roof or roll over the body would just pop off instead of pulling threw and either bending body pins or making gapping wholes in the body, ( at least thats what happens to me! ). I haven't done this but it sure sounds like a winner to me.

I've got my truck tore down this weekend for cleaning and rebuild, but after I get it back together, I'll see if I can come up with a design to use the velcro.

I'll for sure post pictures if I can figure it out..

Thanks guys..

See if you can fasten the front of the body (down low, under the grill) to the truck with a hinge. Then put velcro on the rear body mounts, that way you can flip the lid forward to open it, and just flip it back to the velcro to close it. Your body will always be correctly alligned this way.

i think that instead of using velcrow (sp) i would use magnets, dirt wont get stuck in the magnets, and magnatism never wheres out, unlike the velcrow hairs

Well, I just added a Hard Bodyz Roll Cage to my truck and this may help end some of my problems.

I can use velcro type body mount system using the roll cage as a mounting point. I'll see what I can accomplish this week. I'll have the time, I'm having surgery on my arm tomorrow (Tuesday) so I'll be home for a few..

So whut velcro makes a cool noise when u take it off and is lighter then magnets. Also its cheap and easy to replace.
Im just going to up to a store somewhere and get some velcro strips and put them on that strip inbetween the body mounts. Also It would be aligned perfectly caz i will still have be useing the body mounts just not the clips.
