So i got a TNX
I took delivery of a TNX today..well..its really my dads..but im gunna race it too.
First impressions:
Out of the box..i was impressed with the body..its very pretty..and the truck seems rather beefy...tightly packaged and overall..very nice
Break-in:
With out a doubt..the easiest motor i have ever broken in..the motor literallly started on the first stroke after i hit the lil button on the starter...after about 5 tanks..i started to work on the tune..adn got it running like a top by the 7th..
Performance:
very very very good...will pull wheelies at almost any speed in first gear..so we will throw on a larger pinion gear...new shocks will be in prolly next week or 2..so we can work on the track setup...The breaks on this thing are insane..it stops on a dime...and is rather hard to roll over on cement..although i did accomplish this task 3 times..
Conclusion:
Without a doubt..the best RTR MT i have seen to date...it pulls rediculously hard throught the powerband...comes with a great steering servo...doesnt roll easy...and flat out goes..best motor in any rtr period

yea..we plan on changing the stock shocks..that and gearing it up...so much torque in that os 18 that it wants to lift the front end too easy..so we wil prolly gear it up a lil to help it keep up with the truggies down the strait

TNX does not have reverse. If thats a feature you want in a truck, you will need to find something different.

Just yanked my tnx outta the box yesterday, beautiful body though. What shocks do they recommend upgrading to, and is there a after market spur gear. How tight should you tighten the tension on the spur gear nut, the manual is kinda of goofy, because it gives instructions in like 3 different languages, or maybe its just me who is goofy!!!!

Yep, OS still hasn't lost it to the other big engine makers yet!
The TNX is RC monster truck racers best kept secret. I'm not really sure why there's so little buzz around this truck but thankfully it's showing up more and more. It's a great truck and deserves more than it gets in terms of exposure. RC CA needs to review it unless I've just missed the issue.
Glad to see every-thing's going great with your new truck. I really want one but I just bought an expensive LST two weeks ago so it'll have to wait a bit.

RCCA can't have the TNX being popular, or Traxxas would have a divorce.

the best after market shock is the proline power strokes. they work very nice.iam also testing a set of 1/8 shocks on my tnx but cant seem to get the iol/spring combo rite.problem is not enough springs here to choose from.i could order some but i hate waiting.
