The Savage has proven itself to be one of the most durable trucks to date, the Revo has not. I suspect the Revo will go the way of most other Traxxas products. There will be enough aftermarket parts to make the Revo durable at a mere cost of a couple grand. (If T-maxx history repeats itself.)

I would say revo because it has good gc and is durable plus is an excellent racer and you cant really race a sevage, so i think the revo is the better deal. I cant wait till I get mine!!

I have to disagree... A Savage with either a Picco or Mach .26 engine and a good pipe can outrun a REVO easily, I have seen this at the track. The Savage can be turned into the best of racers. All you need is to lower the suspension with a little softer spring (RCTrix 20% or 40% springs), and put on some 40 series low-pro wheels and tires such as Big Joes, Dirt Hawgs(my choice), or Bowties. Also, for dirt tracks you can lower the gear ratio and get amazing torque not seen with the REVO. I race my Savage with the stock engine and finsh pretty well. Also the REVO will never come close to the reliability and durability of the Savage.

i have both, and cant choose between them. ive done things with my savage that would shatter most other trucks(including my revo). but my revo is much better balanced than the savage and can turn on a dime and weave its way around the track much better than savage (and revo is still box stock!) if i could have only one, i would pick the savage ONLY cause i bash more than i race, if it were the other way around, i'd pick the revo.

I also have both (1 savage 2 Revos). and like the both of them but I have had some unusial problems with my savage out of the box. I know that all savages are not that way( my friend has 1 you just can't kill) but I must have gotten a bad one. The revo in my opinion is easyer to work on and with an engine upgrade there isn't many trucks that can keep up with mine(It has a MACH .26 in it) on the other hand the longer wheel base of the savage does make it less prone to roll over but man the Revo it does handle

I 2nd the TNX! You can bash AND race it. Its fast AND durable. Plus the OS .18 is ultra easy to tune and run.

Yeah nice body on yours too

I say TNX because I did 3 months of research when deciding on a MT and I just couldnt fault the TNX. No 1 who owns 1 has anything bad to say about them. I think they arnt popular because they just dont look all that nice stock. Howeva a nice proline body will fix that quick [8D] The savage is very good but its had its day, you can get better trucks for the money now. If you can pick up a 2nd hand 1 real cheap go for it. The Revo has several "teething" faults from all the reading I've done and the 2.5 can be a nightmare for some. I'm sure Traxxas will come out with hop-up parts for the faults, but thats still more $ you have to part with [:'(]

In the end just read as much as you can on the forums and then make a decision.

Hi,
If you want a big and aggressive truck go with the Savage NS-25 engine is very good if tuned correctly and it is very durable mind you I have spent a good £1000 on mine to make it that good.

But if you want a truck with manners good handling out of the box loads of new technology and great after sale back up go with the Revo I have both and some other trucks (see sig) and to be honest the revo looks the business very well finished. Don’t get me wrong I like my Savage allot but I think the Revo is a better truck in my opinion.

All the best

Gareth
