Default New Revo "Front One-Way" Driveshaft

Just "cross-pollenating" something being discussed in the UE board....

Here's a truly unique drivetrain component for the Revo:

People are still figuring out what exactly it's gonna bring to the table, but the early concensus is that it will help on short/tight tracks, but might be difficult to adjust to for other uses. Someone said it might act as a center diff would, something MTers have long been wanting to try. Also, people are thinking that the bearing might get crudded up easily.

Front "one-ways" are common with on-road racers, lets see how it works with the Revo!!

The upside is it should give you a lot more on power steering. The flip side is you give up 50% of your braking to get it.

Its most important feature will be the ability to brake HARD going into a turn. The truck will no longer mash the nose down on brakes, leaving almost no effect on the steering from nose diving in turns. With that one way bearing in that shaft, once you hit the brakes, the front half of the shaft spins freely, and the rear takes the braking power. another thing its definitely gonna change is how the truck responds in the air to corrections. When you hit the brakes you nose down, you hit the gas you nose up. With this mechanism when you hit the brakes you are only stopping the REAR wheels. To put it into perspective, you will only be stopping 50% of the rotating mass. Some might like it, some might not. So the Revo will not be as responsive in the air.

I know I would like it less responsive .. With the way I drive right now, the rear of my body will be gone in less than a month, LoL.

S7, it will still "nose up" the same, because its still 4 wheel drive. But the brakes only stop the rear wheels with that device, so the nose down correction will not be as good.
