That duratrax .18 is a good engine. It's made by OS. It's a torque monster.. I think you should get that.

Heh... u guys and OS engines... they are over rated and under powered. OS's 18 puts out 1.35 hp, heck my .15 puts out 1.4 hp with out a problem. The duratrax 18 is OK, but even more underpowered. If you are looking to haul arse, get a HPI Nitro Star 18 SS, that pushes out 1.5 bhp. It is extremely reliable and has lots of torque. This HPI engine makes the OS look like a backup engine.

sorry if I made OS sound like a toy, but I feel its best to expose people to a possible better bargain out of the deal.

hate to break it to ya buddy..but OS are underrated...OS states the .18cvr makes 1.35hp..but when it actually produces 1.6hp..which i can garuantee u is more than any HPI .18 could ever dream of...

but i went with the .25 hpi ns engine and it puts out 2.5bhp so i think o.s got screw on this deal unless i was to put a team orion wasp .28(when they came out)in

There is a Dynamite Mach 26 that can push 2.75 horses... but anyways... overall, Fantom or HPI or even RB might be a better deal over OS.

That OS .18 on the dyno pops 1.23 hp, no possible way it produces 1.6. HPIs on the dyno pushes 1.47 on the dyno... stat sheets lie, the dyno never does.

-Edit- The only OS that I still love (only OS i love actually) are their airplane engines. The way they machine it is something to be dreamed of by others. My 61 and 40 are very flawless engines, they deliver the torque when I need it in a stall

How in the world are you going to make that fit???? With the .18's you had a good chance but, not much of one with the .25!

Um YOU broke your engine, by trying to slap on your other cooling head. As I clearly recall, you said you stripped out one of the head bolt holes, thats your issue not a FAULTY engine. Lying to OS was genious on your part, no sarcasm on that.

if stripping a screw by taking it out AND the hole for the first time is my fault, i would have to blame it on the parts. When i first got that engine(mid july) all i was doing was driving it around on the road(no jumps, was to pretty to jump) so the engine couldnt of done anything. I sent them a letter on exactly what happened, they understood and sent a new one.

Nothing wrong there.

Its how you remove bolts that matters, but whatever. You tend to blame parts for your errors, oh well.

Well i am gonna ignore my urge to cut you down...
Back to the topic... Toki Engines... Those are excellent. Unfortnately, about 4 other engine companies buy from them like Fantom, Orion and two more I cant even remember. The new PRO 18 model really cruises, you can find it at www.fantomracing.com
