okay i have a mommoth. my pullstart cord ripped.
i wanted to know if switching to roto start is good or bad.
if i do ill probably go to hobby people in rancho cucamonga. i dont know if this would help but maybe some of you live around here.
should i do it or not ?

well, the roto starts and jump starts, made by hot bodies, and hpi, are ok, but when starting you have to be extremely carefull, if you flood then there goes your one way bearing. see there is no slipper on these.

what about a starter box?

I dislike the traxxas cheEZy start most of electric starters, the jump start systems are a little bit of an improvement over them, but they all have the same problem, tamiyakid already addressed this, when or if the engine floods and hydro locks, your one way can strip or break, or sometimes con rods can snap if the starter is strong enough. If you do more of racing, or dont mind carrying a bulky bump starter (starter box), then it is probably the best choice. But pullstarts still are good in my book, the rope usually only breaks if you pull it out too far or if the engine hydro locks.

If ya got the experience, you can catch a flooded motor before anything bad happens.
You will go through many more pull starters than one-way bearings.
I would recommend a roto start if one fits your motor(?).
If you got a starter box, you look like a serious rc'er, and can start a foul motor.
If ya got a pull starter, you look like a tinkerer...
IMO
