New Savage 25 RTR! First breakage!
My first breakage! Lol...The upper and lower arms snapped.....(was in the process of tuning the engine)
But I suppose they would if you drove in to a metal fence with a brick base at 35 off MPH!!
I wish i videoed it....funny thing is...it went in to it numerous times before it actually broke. Good news is....it's pulling wheelies from stock!! [8D]
The reason for the wacks? Stupid stupid brakes....do they even work?!!
To tackle the problems...I bought the Dual disk brake set, a whole new set of arms, as well as new tires and wheels (Hotbodies UFO wheels with Dozer tires)....(the stock ones are way to bouncy and too narrow) and they should add to the look as well as stability.
I also ordered the reverse module and servos...
I told myself I wouldnt buy any extras for it....but i guess you just can't help it...there just too much fun!
After getting these new brakes, can anyone tell me which parts I am going to be breaking the most? Will the extra break performance put strain on other parts of my veichle?
Also this is my first Nitro RC...how hard is all this stuff going to be to fit []
P.S That pic was taken on my mobile fone - Sony Ericsson s700i - Had to down size it by half aswell! Not bad eh?

Well if you can tune a savage RTR to wheelie out of the box, you should have no problem fixing up your truck Follow the directions and you'll be fine. Good to see you're havin fun with the truck.

You should definitely do the throttle/brake mod.
http://www.savage-central.com/ftopic2179.html
Its a three dollar part and it'll give you all the breaking power you want.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBL85&P=7
W/the dual disk brakes you'll also be putting more stress on your front dogbones (in addition to the front diff) and I don't think the RTR comes with the HD bones.
And get a [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFJT1&P=ML]hump pack[/link] of some sort. Its so necessary
P.S. Your camera phone kicks ass. I have a diff SE phone & it takes horrible pics.

Remember I'm a newbie!
What is a diff/differential?
Ok...so..I will buy the stronger front dogbones and a better diff?
Can anyone link me to them? Or show me an example of which i might need?
Thanks guys!
P.S - All you guys who are mad about speed....I find it mad that you'd want the Savage to be any faster [&:]
Mine actually eats up my street/hills with ease. so much so that I'm having trouble keeping it tamed lol [:'(]
But you just HAVE to love em!

Longer run time?
Is'nt that something only the fuel has control over? [&:]
By the way...
all this diff stuff...
I saw this...looks prmosing.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...941848305&rd=1
Tell me what you guys think...if it's any good I'll take one straight away.
I kinda want all of your approval though, seeing as how you all seem to be experts.
But yea, If I get that (as shown in the link), will I have to change gear settings etc?
Because thats the only part of the truck I DON'T want to touch.
If it's ready to run then thats cool...
Well..tell me what you all think...and sorry for all the questions.

He means that your receiver will last longer. When the batteries in your truck run out, playtime is over. If you get the hump pack, you get better steering power & you'll get more playtime.
Don't worry about the dogbones & if you haven't replaced the brakes yet, try doing the throttle/brake mod & see if that gives you enough braking power.

Yea just quickly again...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...941848305&rd=1
would that ^^ solve the diff problems you get when adding the dual disk brake set?
Also...would it require me to tamper with gear settings etc?
Thanks Naim

I personally don't think its necessary. I did the 4 gear mod on the stock differential & haven't had any issues after 2 gallons. If 35 pounds is a good price in the UK, then you could consider it.
Like i said, if you haven't already swapped the brakes, just try that $3 modification and see if it gives you enough braking power.
And no, it wouldn't require you to tamper with gear settings

RE: New Savage 25 RTR! First breakage!
well im gettin my savage soon and from what ive hered, the 4 spyder diff mod really helps, and its one of the first things im gonna do to the savage. and btw the diffs are what let the outside tyre spin faster that the inside tyre during a turn, and there are different kinds of diffs: gear, ball, one way, and a solid axel. that diff on ebay looks like a good deal

What???
Is there a FRONT and BACK diff?
So i have to buy to sets?
Are the front and back the same?
Or is there only one diff? And is it at the front or back?

The hump pack will also give more power to the servos, if you ever buy a new servo it sometimes tells you on the box the output of the servo at different voltages.
There are two diffs one in the back and one in the front, they are both the same. If you take off your skid guard at the front and back you can just about see them.
