Add some big berm 'wall' corners and you got a winner!
Water it, get a crust on it, fine tune it, sweep it and that looks like a fine track.

Being that he is in Tucson, I don't know how much watering and sweeping sand will help.

Watering WILL help jefx. Pack it, water it-and repeat often. Its not a sand dune lol!
Packing & watering will help keep it from blowing away.
With my 30 years of living in Las Vegas(Seattle now as YOU can see), and having helped build a track two years ago there, it does work.
If you just run & don't water or maintain, you'll have a dust bowl quick.
You don't sound like you have desert experience j...

I like lots of jumps with big air because it really technical to drive. Yeah it's right in my back yard I have 1 acre. I'm working on some berms but im bulding with shovels and wheel barrels (its a slow prosses but it gets the job done). Hopefully by the time im done i will have berms in every corner. My backyard used to be farm fields about 20 years ago so the dirt is really good and packs hard as a rock. It takes a lot of water to keep the track wet it usually takes about 30 min to get the track wet down.

Well I learn something new every day. Nope, we don't have many desserts up in northern Illinois.

Bashmaster, good job! Keep it up, and make sure to get video after it's done. You did that with a shovel and a wheelbarrow? Your back must be killing you!

Heck yeah my back is killing me (lol) I only work on the track on the weekends though. Yesterday I made that little step up into a tabletop and I think it will flow much better out of the turn.

Hey, KaliFormuLA you could empty and dry out your pool and drive in that.

Thanks everyone for all your complements. [8D]

I think my camera is possesed or something because it wont let me take anymore pictures. Everytime I push a button on the camera it locks up and I have to turn it off to reset it. [:@][:@]

I wish I could do that with mine to but my pops would kill me. I have a mini track which is like 1/1000 of that size. Nice job that you did that all by shovel and barrels. I like it and it looks like you will have a lot of fun on it. Do any other rc'ers live around you? If so that could make some for great video!

My parents are really cool, they would let me excavate the whole back yard and wouldn't even care. Not many people live around me that have nitro rc cars. I have a brand new LST I may make a video of that on my track after christmas. There is three hobby shops with in 30 miles of my house and my track will soon be better than two of them. The closest hobby shop by my house has an indoor track that is awsome though. They keep that track smooth as concrete. I have never driven on the indoor track because I have never owned an electric rc. I have no idea why they don't allow nitro. My track is slowly taking shape I have added more jumps than in the pictures. I will try to keep this thread updated with pictures until the track is complete. It may take me three more months to complete the track.

most indoor tracks dont let Nitros run because of the fumes being dangerous when kept in a confined indoor area BM.

That track looks killer man i like it alot, love the big table tops thats gonna make for some fun....now you just need to hire some local kids to marshal for ya and your all set

Looks great nice job!
