Here's a couple of shots of a pre production prototype of the first ever complete U-build-it truggy kit ever sold. I helped develop this kit with GB Direct USA. It was basically a Bergonzoni Blast buggy kit with a larger center diff gear and rally car ring and pinion sets, Rally car front body mount, Uruguay buggy radio tray and center brace, Atomik prepainted truck body, OFNA Dominator wheels, and Panther Meat Grinder tires. This was really a great handling truggy and dominated the MT class at any race track it showed up at. There were two basic variants of this kit, the blast, and the uruguay with it's longer chassis and buttload of pro level parts. Unfortunately, Bergonzoni could not be convinced at the time of the potential market for these kits and it was simply too expensive to produce without their help so it went the way of the carrier pigeon. In spite of the lack of support from Bergonzoni, close to 100 of these bad boys tore up tracks nationwide until lack of parts availability sealed their fate.

Here's a shot of a crono truggy I also worked on with GB Direct. This truggy is sporting the first ever pre production test samples of the Panther Komoto Dragon LP tire. Crono kept promising they would put it into production but so far it has not happened.

This isn't the thread for that. If you want to find out about gassers, head over to the giant scale forums. To make this post have some relevance to the thread, maxxed out, that LSP looks awesome.

The next generation of truggy is already being tested. Here's a spy shot of the original test bed.

No that does not count as a truggy. A real truggy is a monster truck converted from an 1/8 buggy. Usually (i'm not saying this is the exact way) when converting an 1/8 buggy to a truggy you put on axle extentions, monster truck tires, a larger .26-.28 powerplant, a truck body, and you change the diff gears and pinion gear. So in conclusion that nice looking buggy you got there (ever been ran?) could be a mean truggy with about $200.00-$350.00 maybe alitte more, truggies can get expensive when converting your own. The best way to go is to buy some of the new factory built truggies that some of the major manufactures are selling. I recomend the Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium Pro (I'm getting one this week) it comes with aluminum lower control arms and a mean .26, and to top it all off it comes RTR for $520.00-$560.00 it don't get no better than that if your racing on a medium budget like myself.

It's a Losi (mini T) with a 12. Kinda reminds me of the old Big Daddy Roth cartoons.

That's not a .12. It's at least a .21. Look at the guy's hand compared to the motor. If you ask me it looks like a pretty stupid idea. You don't need that much power in something that small. Be cool if it worked though.

Funny what you can tell from a picture and how that could be so different than what someone who has actually seen the thing running in person and is well aquainted with the owner might say. I guess Andy does has some small hands so I can see where the wrong assumption might be made from looking at the pic. Trust me, it's a .12

As for how it actually handles, I don't think handling was ever considered when it was built. It's one of those things that just happens during those long winter months when you are going crazy waiting for the next racing season to start. It does kinda remind me of folks that think sticking a huge honking assed engine in a t maxx is cool though. This is America after all, and you must never forget our creedo, "There is no such thing as too much power." Forget the fact that it turns a well behaved rc car into a semi guided missle, cannibalisticaly eating it's own parts as it flys down a straight line because there is no way it's ever gonna turn without crashing. It does however fill the bill if you are a member (pun intended) of the "Mine's bigger than yours" crowd.

I guessed a 7.5 with savage arms. Shows what I know. Very cool either way. What did it take to graft the savage arms to the 9.5? How does it turn compared to the savage?

since you did say you were gonna start an xtrm conversion. here's what i did to mine. i decided i didn't care for the overall height to length, maybe try using the MAMMOTH ST / XLB front towers instead. they are lower set. it handled well but it just wasn't what i expected. so i turned it back into an xtrm buggy and started to use the extra parts for an XLB build
