Default 4 stroke engine

Has anyone tried to install and use a 4 stroke engine in their monster truck?

The reason I asked is scale airplanes often use 4 stokes for the added power and the sound of the 4 stroke engines are neat.

it has been done before, there is a company that makes a conversion kit to put a 4-stroke in a tmaxx. The only problem is that 4-strokes dont rev as high so the gearing has to be changed to get the right amount of torque and speed

Thanks for the reply.

What I was thinking was, If we make the sound of the exhaust more deeper and not so raspy.

As I understand it OS didn't stop making them, the importer just stopped importing them due to lack of interest.

OS engines has stopped making the FS-40S-C and the FS-26 four stroke Buggy engines. They still make lots of different aviation versions of the four stroke, but they are not the same. OS will sell parts for 3 years after discontinuing an engine, and I think this engine will have parts available for another year or so. The aviation version will work in a buggy but it is more work and the power is slightly different.

Four stroke engines Sound incredible! (sounds like a Harley Davidson) They have great gobs of torque! They will climb anything! It will shoot up a 65 degree 100 foot gravel pile without taking a run at it. You can stop half way up, and with a blip of the throttle shoot into the air landing on the top. The 2 stroke trucks are still backing up to get a run at it! They have as much slow speed torque as an electric rock crawler! They work excellent on small tight winding tracks, they are hard to beat! The only thing they don't do is high speed. Top speed is around 30-35 mph.

so i guess ull need a really low (or is it high? [&:]) gearing to get some speed. so ud need the biggest pinion with the smallest spur gear. hmm doesnt sound too bad, but its not gonna be on my to do list
